I hear you on the eating slow thing. I can't undertand it, but it seems that I am always the last one finished, even if I have smaller portions and try to eat fast. If I try to take big bites or swallow too quickly, I get terrible, painful hiccups.
After reading this thread, I think that *I* must be the wierd one for not doing any of this stuff!

I do like apples spread with peanut butter, although I think that it's an American thing (I've seen it recommended in diet books as a snack), just like peanut butter & grape jelly, which the English seem to think is wierd. Sometimes I mix the latter together in a bowl before I put it on the bread, but it's not necessary.
When I was a little kid I used to love plain yellow mustard on white bread. My Dad let me eat as much as I wanted to one time, and it was years before I could bring myself to try it again.
Also, I like bread and butter pickles on leftover roast turkey sandwiches. DH thinks all pickles are disgusting, but it's the only way I will eat cucumbers.
