there's now Guacamole and Green Salsa flavored Doritos here :)  Haven't yet tried the guacamole, but the green salsa is decent (if not a little warm)!

i had the Guacamole Doritos in December when i went back for a visit.   ;DYUMMIE!  my fingers turned all green instead of the normal cheesie-orange, and that part sort of grossed me out.  :-/  it looked like mold or something.  they were awesome tasting, though, esp. with the Tostito's brand salsa con queso (nacho cheese dip)!

i love the Walker's Sensation's Oriental Crackers in the “Peking Spare Rib and Five Spice" flavour.  i am also glad that they don't come in huuuuge bags like Doritos, or i would eat the whole bag in a sitting! :D

And Caitlinn - I most certainly do remember Charles Chips!  Had them delivered when I was a kid in Miami!  I remember waiting for that large van to come up, the brown speckled tins full of crisps AND chocolate chip cookies!

Peedal, thanks for the update on Charles' Chips.  We never had them in our home when I was a child, but I do remember having them at an aunt's house.  I couldn't have been anymore than 5 or 6  when I saw them, so my memories may have been a bit fuzzy.  Nice to know they are still around.

How about beef flavoured Monster Munch, that is the king of all crisps!

Non of the above for me...I LOVE Doritos!  And I'm hoping that I will not have to see them in England as they are a particular vice of mine that I'd like to stop!

Hi there,

CURRY CHIPS?!  Gimmie gimmie gimmie. Do the taste like a nice hot masala dish? This is going on my list of things to try this summer! :D

My favourite American brands: Doritos---but they should be the lower fat baked  varieties. Also baked sour cream and onion chips. My favourite high fat brand is pringles I love the spicy cajun and  bbq!

cheers,

Samantha*** :)

wish i could've found 'baked' versions of those crisps... i dont like normal, salty/greasy crisps. i know lays makes baked but i couldnt find any other grocery-store brands except at the health food stores.  :-*

There are some lower fat versions of crips - the normal Walker ones, that are 33% less, and Golden Delight (found those at Tesco, haven't seen them elsewhere, and are 90% less fat or something similar).  Also found a rice crisp, underneath the Doritos section at Tesco's, that are also baked so 90%-ish less fat as well.  Pringles also has low fat crips - something like 30% less fat.

We're big fans of the Golden Delight, though the other two are all right.  What I would almost *die* for, though, is the baked potato crackers (I think you mentioned them, Residezi?) that have bbq, sour cream n' onion, etc. flavours.  *drool*

I'm soo going to have to bring a bigger suitcase, simply to cart things back with us, next time we're in the US.  Last time I didn't allow nearly enough room.  ;)
