Thank you all for replies and greetings. Wow lots of Pennsylvania connections!! I live pretty much smack in the middle of PA..in the rural area of Juniata County..it half way between Harrisburg and State College. I will be moving to Crewe, Cheshire if all goes as hoped.

I am so happy to have found this site and am continuing to read and laugh and cry as I can relate to so many things and get tips on things I may not have thought of.

Thanks again!--- Helena

A most warm welcome to you Helena!  I am almost a newbie myself, here.

Cheshire is a lovely county (but sadly lacking in groundhogs!).  You'll be busy for a while, I have no doubt, but when you have the time, pay a visit to Mow Cop, and to Moreton Hall, and don't neglect your wonderful walled and timber-framed County Town, Chester!

The very best to you, and again, welcome!
Howard

Well since Stuart (Zap) wants to start a contest of most replies...I have no choice but to post again. I was going to reply to him...but that would certainly help along his campaign! And we all know that since I came first and introduced him to the site it is only fair that I win this one :)

(Competitive...nahhh not us!! :) )

But truly....I am still checking here regularly and finding great help in seeing others go through similar things. Update on the ex talk....we had the talk...it went pretty well but didn't get an answer (didnt expect one right away). Just keep your fingers crossed for us!!

Thanks again for being here

Welcome to the site Helena, :)

Crossing my fingers for you with the ex, :)

Just posted a question to zap about the area you are going to be living. Have you visited yet?

Just sent my passport off to British Consulate last week and waiting to get that Entry Clearance.

Again, welcome, welcome :)

Jenny

Jenn---

I have been twice to visit Stu in Crewe. I thought it was a lovely area and definately don't have any hesitation about living there. Stu can be more helpful with details...of course when I was there we did a lot of touristy travel things of London, Wales, Dublin, Blackpool. That is one of the lovely things about the area though it is really central to so many spots. (of course by England standards everything is soooo far away..where by US standards I feel it is sooo close!!).

Good Luck in decision making about a location!
