Lost my cousin...
« on: November 27, 2006, 03:06:56 PM »
I just was notified that my cousin, 31 (two years younger then me) was killed in Iraq yesterday.  His wife was getting the house ready for Christmas because he was due home on Friday for leave.  It sort of puts a lot of things in perspective, doesn't it?

While we had never lived near each other, he and his brother and sister who are triplets, were probably the most similar in to me and my sister.  Just a couple years ago we had an all cousin reunion where we got to get together as adults and enjoy a nice weekend of family.  He had been in Afghanistan since the start but about a year ago got redeployed to Iraq.  You never really think about how cruel things can be until they happen right before your eyes.
WARNING My thoughts and comments are entirely my own.  Especially when it comes to immigration and tax advice, I am not a professional.  My advice is to seek out professional advice.  Your mileage may vary!

I'm sorry for your loss.  How is his wife coping with things?

Oh, hon, I'm so very sorry.  My heart goes out to you, your family and especially to his wife and family.  It's beyond cruel, the timing, everything.  So sorry.   :\\\'(

I'm so sorry to hear this.  My brother recently spent a year on active duty in Iraq, and it really brought the reality of this 'military action'/war home to me.  I hope you and the rest of his family can find some much needed peace and comfort as you deal with this...
When I am grown-up I will understand how BEAUTIFUL it feels to administrate my life effectively.

Until then I will continue to TORCH all correspondence that bores me and to dance NAKED over the remnants of its still glowing embers.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

It is nice that you have a recent memory of when you were all last together.  I'm sure that will be something you all will treasure forever.

Oh no, I'm really sorry to hear this.  My brother was deployed to Iraq twice and it's so, so hard.  I'll keep your family in my thoughts.
