Don't they do AA meetings in rehab?
I don't know what sort of rehab she is attending, as it sounds like she seems free to come and go, from the stuff I've read. As for meetings, I can tell you what it was like for me--time in rehab was mostly given to small groups, one-on-one, education about the disease. Rehabs aren't *run* by AA, though most use that model of the 12 Steps. We would periodically have a guest speaker come in (volunteer) from the outside for an in-house meeting. But we were also bussed, in small groups, to local meetings.
What appalls me about this particular situation is the press hounding and following LL at meetings. Can no one appreciate how harmful that is to the average person trying to recover? So many people want the Anonymous in Alcoholics Anonymous to hold true for them. But when you have a celeb swamped by reporters and paps, all that goes out the window--not for LL, but for every other poor sod trying to attend.
