Odd question?
« on: December 11, 2006, 03:46:32 PM »
My best friend wants a RIO LASER HAIR REMOVAL SYSTEM for Christmas..which I have purchased for her. I was going to post this..but can I pack this in my lauguage and take it over there. Would there be any problems with going through security at Heathrow or ORD in USA?
If anyone knows..please let me know. I am leaving soon. Thanks.

hiya

cough cough..  take it out of the packaging, cough cough, pack it in your normal travelling stuff, cough cough, and IF customs ask you about it, you just say it's yours  cough cough ...  give to your friend and charge her an extra drink or two down the pub when your here!

Disclaimer - although technically this is wrong to do, I advise that you don't do this - however, seeing as the vast majority of travellers do this and the authorities are unable to pick up on everything passing through airports around the world this way, then its your choice should you wish to do so! - also check to see if their are any restrictions on carrying electronic items such as this via your hand luggage - a check on airline/airport websites about banned or restricted items should provide an answer

Cheers! DtM! West London & Slough UK!

Yes, if the item were for personal use *cough cough* there are currently no airline restrictions that would require you to put it in your checked luggage.
