It is very cold. At elast here the place is ready for it. I had to laugh reading the BBC that they got 3 inches of snow over there recently and the place came to a standstill.

Would thought they'd buy more salt trucks, but no.

Yeah I hear snow just makes everything come to a halt.  It's much like that in GA...we call most of our storms "snoflake" and the year.  Though here when there is a threat of snow your prescence is required at the local supermarket.   ;D

Hi manc...welcome to UKY. :)

Things would come to a standstill here in Houston if we had even 1 inch of snow much less 3.  ::)

Welcome manc! :) I lived in Michigan (ann arbor) for a few years before coming here, and when my husband & I move to America (hopefully this next winter) we'll likely wind up in Michigan again, since he's in the auto industry. Welcome to the site!
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

thanks for the welcome and to the State, but I have been here 3 1/2 years now, so it's deffo feels more like home. Ann Arbor is a great town btw. I am about 3 hours north west up near Traverse City.

I like Michigan though, Fully integrated myself into supporting the Hapless Lions and Tigers while rooting for the Red Wings at every turn.

Will be eligible for Citizenship next year, not too sure about that one. Was reading your Immegration forums about dual citizenship and I still can't really see too many advantages of it. I wouldn't mind being able to vote in November though!  :)

I suppose I just need to jump in and post on the other forums, and when I find the relevent thread in which to ask how come Hershey Chocolate is still in business when the chocolate tastes like vomit I'll do just that.

top one.
Manc

Ah Hersheys - it divides the world. ;) My English husband actually adores it, though he still says English chocolate is better (I agree), there's something about a Hershey bar with almonds tha makes him go weak at the knees, and it's always the first thing he buys when we land in the US! :)

hello manc...welcome to uky...  those of us living in the northeast UK do not stand still with snow...we just laugh at it...  I am from maryland in the US...and although we do not get the white winters that often...we have our share at times...  I do not think of 3" as anything but a joke...  must be 6" and above to be considered a snowfall...lol
