Hands of those who overindulged over the holidays
« on: December 25, 2006, 11:27:13 PM »
OMG - I feel like a tick about to pop. Gross, but accurate.

I have had more rich meals this past three days than in the past year I think. Not to mention the endless cookies & cocktails I have consumed.

But it was soooooooooooooo good and sooooooooooo worth it.

Ok - diet time me thinks.   ;D

It's only the 26th!! The eating isn't over yet!!! At least, not in my family!! There are more parties, etc., right up until New Year. I wouldn't even consider dieting until after that.  :P

Yeah still have not had my fill although to be honest I feel a bit ick right now!  I just had 2 cheese sticks which for lactose-intolerant me is not great!  And my mayo/yogurt/sour cream/parmesan cheese dip is in the oven right now!!  Ah well - no dieting until after the 2nd at the earliest!

Me too! I feel like I have been on a free ride without any consequences! Way too many rich meals, deserts and red wine without thought.  ;)

I just had 2 cheese sticks which for lactose-intolerant me is not great!

Geeta, I am lactose-intolerant as well (milk only really, it kills my stomach) and while I didn't eat a bowl of cereal often in the states I liked it every now and then....needless to say I haven't had cereal for breakfast in over 3+ yrs since they don't seem to sell lactose free milk over here in the fresh milk section...unless I have missed it?.

Luckily I am a tea drinker without milk...otherwise I would be in trouble.

Any options that you have run across as a good milk substitute?

Jules, have you tried Rice Dream??  I used to hate it and I love it now!  Great in cereal.  I buy the vanilla flavor at Sainsburys.

MeShell and Jennredd, thanks for the suggestions, I will give both a try and see what is best for me. Glad to hear that there are other options!

Off topic...MeShell, hope you are doing well!  :)

I've got a small stomach when it comes to food.  Never been a big eater.

Now drink is another matter entirely.  ;D ;)

Jules I usually use soy milk, to be honest, or rice milk.  Not a great substitute - in fact, I basically don't consider it to be milk, but rather something different completely.  That helps me adjust to it!  I still drink milk (am having a glass with my french silk pie right now!) but cheese tends to give me more trouble!

I feel like an anaconda that just swallowed a goat.  Leave me here on the rug for a few weeks while I digest in peace.
If you don't know where you're going, it doesn't matter what road you take.

Thanks Geeta. I can see what you mean about not considering it milk so you don't have the expectation of it tasting the same. I will give it a try.
