The creche was the deciding factor to join this particular gym.  I have a smaller one that is walking distance but they don't have a creche. I'll have to see if Manchester has power pramming and if not I might just start one here!  Sounds like fun!

I went again today, YAY!!  I decided to take everyone's advice and not beat myself up.  I did a little more today by adding an additional 10 minutes on the eliptical trainer after my rowing.

Lindyloo, that's fab!!!!  You're doing SO great!  I called a gym today because you got me motivated!  We'll see if I can work it out with Finnian...

We bought a treadmill about 6 months ago but have really fallen into laziness again despite having it taking up most of the space in the dining room. As soon as my cough is gone I'm going to get back on it. DH won't let me join a gym because of it (I thought maybe if I joined one near work I'd use it for yoga and weights) so I have to suck it up and get on it again!!!

I wouldnt pay for a gym membership because I know I wouldnt get my moneys worth out of it but luckily my neice who works at a ladies gym says she will give me free one week passes as often as I like so I can go if the mood strikes me. (never does!)

we live across a park it's so easy to just put some freaking trainers on and just walk/run around for a set amount of time every other day. Well it sounds easy in theory :P

I think it's better to do a little bit of exercise frequently, then to do heavy exercise infrequently.  I think that when you do heavy exercise infrequently, your body isn't used to it so you feel sore and tired afterwards, which turns you off from doing more exercise. Also, your metabolism isn't adjusted to that level of activity, so you end up eating more.

If you exercise 20 minutes a day, 6 days a week, for example, you will still have exercised 2 hours that week, and exercising will feel natural to you, not something you have to force yourself to do. It will also be a part of your daily routine, so you won't feel that exercising is causing you to miss out on doing something else. I try to exercise 20-40 minutes in the morning about 5 days a week (videos), so it's just part of my normal morning routine like showering and having breakfast.

I prefer to exercise at home because if I only have time to exercise for 10 minutes, at least I'll have exercised for 10 minutes. Whereas if I went to a gym, I would probably think it's not worth the bother of travelling if I'm not going to spend at least an hour or so, so I wouldn't exercise at all.
