Just passed my driving test
« on: January 15, 2007, 09:59:00 AM »
I took my first test in December and failed. I was really upset. We are moving back to the US in July and I really didn't want to have to take the test again but, I made another test date for today. Yep, I passed! I am so relieved! I do want to put my 2 cents in though.

For anyone who is thinking about taking the drivers test, think of your first test as a practice test. No matter how many hours you drive with your instructor, you really won't know what the testing center is looking for until you take that first test. I am not happy that I didn't pass the first time but I really gave me an idea of what they are looking for. They will explain what you need to work on.

reason to celebrate!!! Isn't it such a relief? Congrats to you! Now, just beware it's easier for them to take it off you b/c you're a "new" driver. I think it's a couple years until you have the same limits (points, warnings etc...) as other drivers. By the way, Direct Line will take into account your no claims from the US if you get it in writing from your AMerican insurance co.

Congrats again!

Congratulations!

Just curious then, did you have a different examiner each time but you think they were consistent with the testing?

I had different examiners for the two tests. The first one was with a male and the second was a female. I thought they were very similar in what they were looking for. Thanks for the congrats everyone!!!!!

Congratulations    :)
I just failed mine today too..
Did the examiners asked about your first test or want to know about your last practical test ? Are they really not looking to fail people on first one ?

She didn't ask if I took the test before but I did tell her it was my second time. I can't remember if the first one asked me or not. Remember 2 million people take the test yearly and 1 million fail. The standards of testing are pretty high. Just practice what they said are your weak points and you will do fine.

This is my test report for manual drive ..
3 points of Move off
4 points on Mirrors-M/C on signalling
3 points on Mirrors-M/C on changing directions.

Clutch 1
footbrake 1
reverse 1
3 positioning ......etc.......

Positioning is the harder part , I cannot stay on the left on very small road with cars parking every where ..

I am now in too much pain .  My company is offering me a brand new BWM d520 , I cannot pickup it until i have a UK driver license.

Congratulation  again ...I am very happy for you ..
