Dh does stewarding at Wembley and he said that right before the Superbowl they are going to announce who the official teams will be to play a NFL game next year.  There is talk of the Dolphins and Giants (geee, looks to me like they might be appealing to the touristy cities for the Brits!) But that's not official yet.  I really, really want the Bears to come over and play because that means family would finally visit me!!!  Sister and BIL are die hard Bears fans.  I know William Perry was over last year lobbying for the NFL.  Goooooo.... Bears!

What time is the game on in the UK on Sunday? I'm assuming quite late at night?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I'm not sure.  I know DH would be able to tell but someone might come along before then who actually knows.

For those interested, DH just rang and said it has been comfirmed on October 28th the Giants will play the Dolphins in London! Not that those are any teams I have to go see but I am sure there must be someone out there who would be interested!  :)

(sorry, I know this thread is supposed to be about the Superbowl)

Well...................

It was a good game!  Bears were just outplayed, and Colts deserved the win.  I thought the rain was a good omen, but it wasn't meant to be.  Wait till next year! :)

i only saw the first quarter...brilliant opening touchdown though!
my son watched the whole thing....i promised he could go in to school late but now he won't get up at all, combination of disappointment and homesickness i suppose....
not sure what to tell the school?

anyway, chicago is famous as/for....
the windy city
the city of big shoulders
deep dish pizza
the second city
and
there's always next year!!!!

I stayed up for the whole event!  It really did make me a little homesick, as I really love American football, and really, really miss it.

What I was most impressed with this year, was the ref calling.  Their calls seemed a lot more fair then some of the calls that I saw last year.   :)

We stayed out until the bitter end, left Cheers at 3:00 AM or so, I think.  It was strange being in a place where there were both Colts and Bears fans, as if I'd been in Chicago naturally there'd just be loads of Bears fans.  I was really moved by the start of the game, when the two teams came out and they announced the players, and when the military guard brought out the flags and Billy Joel sang the anthem.  The whole bar sang loudly and DH and I were just really thrilled, we were very proud to be representing the US and Chicago. :)
