Psychotic hamster!

When I tell people that my housemates' hamster b*tches us out when she's unhappy, no one believes me! Here's the proof!

That's so cute!  I've always loved hamsters as pets.  Anyone heard of the robodwarf hamster?  It just came out here.  It's tiny and so cute but I've never seen anything run on a wheel that fast.  It's like a hamster on speed, lol.

We had guinea pigs when i was a kid and oh my yes they were noisy little buggers.  My nephew has two hamster, one of which he named evil as it nipped him the first day he got it.  They don't make any noise other than a bit of chatter though.  The video is so cute!!

That is so cute! I have had hamsters before and never heard them sound like that. We did have five gerbils once - rescued one from a pet store that we found in an enclosure with large rats, then went to the pet store a few months later to find a her a playmate and ended up bringing two more home, then later another trip to the pet store found us with two more.  They ended up in three different cages because they fight with unfamiliar gerbils.

Sorry - to get to the point, gerbils will "stomp" their feet when they are alarmed. Ours would do it to get our attention. We had them on tables and a desk and would let them run around outside their cages on the tables when we were home so as soon as we walked in the door from work and we did not immediately let them out they would start stomping at us, one would start and the rest would follow suit. Also, they would squeak really loud sometimes when they were unhappy. Spoiled buggers they were.

could it be the cats? she's smelling the cat smell on her jumper and is going ballistic over it? Jess just got a hamster and she went a bit nutty if she senses that Vince is coming into her room. Dunno. it's cute though.

But never fear, gentlemen; castration was really not the point of feminism, and we women are too busy eviscerating one another to take you on.

I don't think so. She started doing this over the summer, long before Ize came over. The first time she did it Susan had taken her out in the back garden in her ball to let her run around. When Sooz picked her up to come back inside, Phoebe started the squealing.

Thanks for the link, Alicia. I'll share with my housemate. We know that what she is communicating is that she's agitated/annoyed/p*ssed off....it's just hysterical because she's soooo loud! When she is startled or frightened she hides, when she's mad at one of us, she b*tches!  ;D
