A whole lot of yumminess!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empire_biscuit

We first had them when were on holiday in Oban a few years ago.  I found a recipe for them in my 'Hairy Bikers Family Cookbook'.  Very easy to make-I would be happy to share the recipe.

Please do! Though the look familiar. Maybe they have another name in Canada?

We got a bunch of redcurrants in our veg box this week so I made Abel & Cole's Redcurrant Muffins last night. My mom made them about three times when she was over last summer and they just tasted So good when I was sick. And they're super easy to bake!

My tip: the redcurrants come off the stems super easily if you start at the top with the ste between the twines of a fork and just push the fork down. The berries pop right off and into a bowl. Or your mouth. :P

3 dozen carrot cake/zucchini muffins, a loaf of zucchini bread, 14 roasted beets, and 2 BBQ chicken pizzas (from scratch).  Enough for now!!
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

Empire biscuits.

Weirdly, the next day after you mentioned these, I saw them in a bakery. I've never seen them here before.

When I am better, I may give them a go.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Its not really baking- but I made rocky road fudge and turtle fudge for my friend's bake sale tomorrow to support the charity that has been tremendous in helping her and her wee 8 month old baby who has been in a cast for the last several months for hip problems she was born with.

The fudge is soooooooo good, I tried hard not to eat a piece, but I gave in- Luckily it was just a tiny corner    :)

Made my very first attempt at making some sourdough bread.  Didn;t turn out 100% the way I wanted it, mainly because I don't have a whole lot of experience working with dough, so I haven't developed the "Feel" for it.  Also, I'm nursing a burn on my right hand, so in general I wasn't using it.

Crust turned out delicious though :)  Going to try making a baguette this weekend

That looks awesome.

I made a key lime pie, it's awesome, great sour/sweet balance.

Two beautiful loaves of zucchini bread with a giant zucchini/courgette from FIL's garden. Sent one over there to keep them sweet. ;) Probably the best recipe I have ever used for it, they turned out perfectly!

Taking liberties with the 'baking' thread - we've had so many good things out of our kitchen today!  :)

Leftover cream of broccoli & cheese soup for lunch (I made yesterday)
Homemade chicken broth for the freezer, made today
Homemade blackberry jam (for the fridge & freezer), DH made today
Now he's making Beef Stifado for supper
And damson ice cream for later
Plus we've leftover blackberries still for a crumble another day.

It smells so yummy around here right now!  ;D
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Picked apples from the neighbor's tree and blackberries growing over the back of our fence and made a blackberry and apple crumble... about to eat it with custard!
