A squash.  I'm new to baking squash.  Last time I didn't leave it in long enough and it was a bit undercooked.  This time is was basically puree inside, but smelled wonderful!

I've bought a jack o'lantern muffin pan and some Halloween cookie cutters, along with some orange food colour, so I guess I will be making Halloween cookies and muffins this week. I'm not sure what muffin recipe to use, but may just make my pumpkin cupcake recipe without the cream cheese icing (if I iced them, you wouldn't see the jack o'lantern face on them, plus I doubt DSS would like the cream cheese icing.) I'm using Martha Stewart recipes for the sugar cutouts with food colouring, and then chocolate cutouts as well for the spider and the witch cookie cutters (the pumpkins will be orange and I may do the skulls in red for fun).  :)

I'm getting ready to go on a Halloween jag this week.  Orange & cinnamon sugar cookies with orange buttercream icing in loads of different shapes: pumpkins, bats, witches hat, etc.  Then dark chocolate & peanut butter cupcakes with spooky coloured icing.

I did some witches feet last week ...

Oh, wow! The witch feet look really cool. How did you get them to look so perfect?

Thank you, Sista & Jewlz.  Trust me, they are far from professional.  Loads of mistakes there!

Sista, the look is consistent because I traced the skirt using circle cookie cutter and the feet were traced on using a cardboard template.  Making outlines with food marker pens are a god-send to those for us who can't actually pipe!

Those cookies/biscuits are gorgeous, Mrs. C. If I had spent all that time making them, I wouldn't want anyone to eat them!

I made chocolate-pumpkin cheesecake brownies yesterday.  Yummy.

Made the little jack o'lantern pumpkin cupcakes with orange glacé icing on top so you can still see their faces. They look very homemade (hehe) but they taste nice and are a cute Halloween treat for the boy. Sorry, I don't have any pics yet, as I'm suffering from technical difficulties, but I took some pics and will try to post later.  ;)

I never even knew there was such a thing as food marker pens!
