proper Boston baked beans. in the oven for 6+ hours, and totally yummy. Real molasses, brown sugar, chopped bacon, onion.....did use haricot beans instead of Navy (pea) beans, but flavor is the same.

OK, so it's not "typical" baking, but they were indeed baked!

Last thing I baked was banana walnut muffins (with homemade applesauce rather than egg- they tend to come out fluffier!)

Next thing I'll bake will be the same muffins.  :P  My fav!  And I got two mini muffin tins for my birthday (well, my birthday is in a week, but I got them last weekend with birthday money sent early) so I'll try making some tinny tiny baby mini muffins.  :)  mmmmmmmm

DH keeps going on about pies (savoury, not sweet) and I he's half joking, half serious, so I'll try them.... again.  :P  Last time I tried it turned out fine, but was way unhealthy!  I'll give it another go with even more veg.  :)  And maybe in my mini muffin tins.  :)  Or even regular muffin tins (last time I used a pie tin).  :)

The Hairy (dieters) Bikers have a nice pie recipe and they're easily adaptable to other fillings:

mmmmmmm.... Thanks PB!  :)  But I shouldn't have watched that now....  :P  I just got back from a run/walk and I'm a bit hungry.... and the tastiness of the pies is making me more hungry now.  :)  Great idea to use milk!  The last recipe I tried had me brushing the top with egg and it turned out just ok....

Cornbread! Though I want to bake something cakey soon...
It is difficult to speak adequately, or justly, of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent... the biggest aggregation of human life, the most complete compendium in the world.

My DD baked cupcakes with her Gran (DF mum) last night and forgot to use the cupcake cups. The results were a bit odd, but the taste was good :) lol

mmmmm..... I made these this weekend and they were delicious!  :)  I added extra chili powder (but it would have been spicy enough on it's own), used soy sauce rather than Worcestershire sauce (we're veggie and it usually has anchovies in it) and left out the brown sauce (just a bit extra soy and ketchup to make up for it).  :)  I used extra potato rather than mince and forgot the peas at the end ( ::) ).  It was perhaps more tasty because we used puff pasty we had lying around rather than the pizza dough.  :)  Nom nom nom.  :)

For my first real go at pies, it was pretty darn tasty!  :)  DH liked them so much, we've ordered proper pie tins (we made 6 muffin-tray pies and one proper pie tin (like pumpkin pie-sized) pie.  :)

Sooooo yummy!  Wish I'd made more!  :)

Today's baking is banana walnut mini muffins.  :)  Breaking into my birthday gift (the mini muffin trays) a bit early (my birthday is Saturday!).   ;D

Those didn't sound appealing, but they turned out good I take it? :)

Last night I made a treacle sponge for pudding and before that I made some marshmallows for us to toast over the barbecue. Delicious but a LOT of whisking  ;D

Made some yummy brie-stuffed bread last night.  :)  Still getting the hang of making bread, but I used the right yeast this time... but I don't think I used it right.  :P  I think this yeast may need to 'bloom' first. ?  Still not positive on that, but will try it again this weekend since DH wants to try bread baking, too.  :)

R2D2 and Darth Vader shaped Welsh cakes in honor of my husband's grannie who has just died.  They were tasty!
When I used to be on a motorcycle forum you listed your bikes here.  On the travel forum the countries you'd been to.  Photography, your cameras / lenses.  Somehow here it's bureaucratic BS survived!  Tier 1, fiance/spouse visa, ILR, AHHH!!!!!!  I feel like putting the fees...

Had my first go at Cornish Pasties the other day.  And they were GOOD, too. And Gluten-free.  [I am a gluten-free baker, professionally]. We had some venison steak in the freezer and used that and they really were out of this world!  I'm definitely adding them to my menu.
