DH's birthday cake... filled & topped with fresh blackberries I picked on the railway embankment behind us!

That looks so good, Q-G.

I made 6 honey cakes for Rosh Hashanah. It's my mother's recipe that takes forever to put together; sift 5 1/2 cups of flour 3 times, seperating eggs, alternate adding wet and dry ingredients, folding in egg whites... a real pain, but the end result is so worth it!

I helped DH make madelbrot with raisins, chocolate, and nuts. Yum!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Peanut butter cookies for the kids.  Nectarine crumble for the grownups...

Tomorrow is 40 cupcakes for my son to take to school on his birthday..

a pumpkin spice cake.  Probably a zucchini bread next.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.

I made banana bread ages ago (I am not the most prolific baker) to make use of some over-ripe bananas but we never ate it and it went off so in the bin it went :-[

A champagne cake for my mother in law's 60th birthday this weekend.  I'll be filling and decorating it tomorrow.

Ohhhhh, that sounds intriguing!  Can I ask what it is? I'm scrambling around for ideas now as I have to make a birthday cake to feed 40 for next weekend  :o
