1.  Was off on my birthday Friday so hubby drove us up to the dales.  We had lunch in a little veggie cafe in Grassington and did a walk in Grass Woods and a walk from Grassington to Linton and back.

Then we met our friends Brian and Kath for dinner at a new to us Indian place.  It was a lovely birthday!  [smiley=balloon.gif]

Also received homemade hummus and bread from Mrs and Mr Robinson the day before!  :)

I have a feeling I'm getting a cake from mapleleaf girl on Monday; she's coming over to see me as I've got the day off (two in a row--whoo hoo!)  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

2.  Have got three casual gigs booked for the summer!  [smiley=guitarist.gif]

3.  Struggling to keep on top of my music stuff since my work schedule remains so busy.  I've started bringing my fiddle to work in order to get some practice time in either before or after.   [smiley=juggle.gif]

4.  Dylan has now started tolerating the small black and white cat who is female and young and maybe in love with Dylan--she tries to play with him all the time.  So now it's only the big bruiser black and white cat that he's stressed out about.  [smiley=smitten.gif]

5.  We think we saw Alan Bennett (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Bennett) when we were in Ilkley on Friday!

Oh, AB is so unmistakable, Andee!  I've spotted him several times.  Once getting off the London train at Leeds.  And several times in Camden (he has a house there as well).  I stalked him around the Wholefoods on Parkway -- just to see what he was buying.  Another time he sort of smiled at us in the M&S food hall in Camden.  Maybe he was starting to recognize me  ;D

Haha!  That's too funny!  I bet it was him when we spotted him in the car next to ours in the car park in Ilkley.

1. Hubby and I are off today, and we had another bash at organizing the spare room. There are still a billion (well, maybe only a million...) boxes still in there from when we moved. MIL is here at the end of June and we still have to get it ready.

2. Mom is coming for a visit tomorrow. So, while we were in the spare room, I loaded up more boxes to take to Goodwill. She and I both enjoy a good old wander through, so since we will be headed there anyway it was a good time to get rid of more stuff.

3. J. Gumbo's is having another all you can eat, all day, for one price day again tomorrow. We are going for lunch and dinner. $12.99 for all you can eat isn't bad at all.

4. Hubby suffered most of the week with sciatica, the worst bout he's had so far, and his back was in agony. I had a migraine for three days. We're both glad the week is over and we are feeling like ourselves again.

5. We seem to have finally reached the end of winter.

1.  I did something really funny today and can't stop giggling about it every time I think about it!

I was on my knees on the floor at work tidying up the kids books which are in a wire basket close to the floor.  I went to stand up and to steady myself and get my balance. As I went to stand, I grabbed what I thought were some jeans hanging on a rail in the men's section adjacent to the kids' area.  I reached out and grabbed with both arms (and hands!) a man's leg!  Oh my god!  I apologized and was so flustered! He said, "It's alright, love".  I didn't even look at him in the face I was so embarrassed.  I ran upstairs and waited until he was gone.  [smiley=blush.gif]

2.  Off to Manchester tomorrow to see hubby's mum for Mother's Day.   [smiley=daisy.gif]

3.  We are calling the little black and white cat Dr. Pippin or Pips for short (that's what is on her tag--most likely the vet's name).  Dylan sat on the windowsill outside and watched her sniff flowers.  He's learning to relax around her and to let her play with him a bit.  [smiley=smitten.gif]

4.  I have a new favorite program (it's been on since 2007 and I had no idea!) The Big Bang Theory. Discovered it when we were visiting my mom in Florida--love it!  [smiley=smitten.gif]

5.  I have a friend who has been hospitalized for anxiety and depression and she gets no support from her partner.   :( I feel really blessed to have a wonderful hubby, a job I mostly like, and somehow the strength to get me through each day.

Picturing your first one is giving me a giggle! I'd definitely bolt upstairs and hide too. ::) ;D

Your last one is a good reminder to all of us who are blessed with love and support, and lives we are content with.

HAHAHAHAH!!! I would so do something like that!  Reminds of a toddler running around to grab his Mum, only to look up and realise that isn't his Mum and burst out crying!  ;D

1.  Off work today--yay!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

2.  My friend that I mentioned last week (depression / anxiety) is doing loads better.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

3.  Back to part-time next week (we'll see how long that lasts!)!   [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

4.  Now that I'm going back to part-time I really have to make a decision on whether or not I'm going to remain a part of the harp performance group or not.  I'm really leaning toward no and have been for some time...   :-\\\\

5.  Will I do it this year?  The thing I talked about last summer and spring but never did....BUSKING!   [smiley=curtain.gif]

1. Had my first work social night out since starting this job and it went really well...I didn't feel like too much of an outsider despite being the newbie. (And the boss paid for the first round of drinks which is always nice)

2. Have been obsessively checking the Passport status page because I was really worried my head is too big in the photo and it would get rejected but this morning instead of the usual my application can't be found it says this: Your Thank you for submitting your application for a U.S. passport book! is currently being processed. And it was with me searching under my married name...so I'm happy and expecting that to make its way back to me in the next couple of weeks!

3. Tonight is a function for the students that I work with at my University which means another night of free drinks :)

4. My husband has an interview today for a pretty awesome job opportunity so we'll see where that goes!

5. Looking forward to this weekend and hopefully some relaxing and a little bit of shopping as I had my first payday on Monday.

:)

Do it!!!!  :)

1.) Have had a pretty crap and stressful week!!!! [smiley=confused.gif]  [smiley=furious3.gif] [smiley=dizzy2.gif]

2.) We've got a Friday lunchtime celidh band at work.  Jazz trombone doesn't work too well with Scottish music, so trying my hand at playing some stringed things  [smiley=guitarist.gif]

3.) Doing an all day workshop on trombone and then performing our learnings from the workshop tomorrow night with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra tomorrow!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

4.)  Whohoo! Friday night! Looking forward to some homebrew!!  Our house smells very very yeasty and alcoholic these days. Hehehe  ;D

5.) J's birthday tomorrow. Trying to figure out some way to surprise him.  [smiley=balloon.gif]

I'm trying to see what fits best within the sound we have, but either bass guitar, banjo, or cello.  I am the first to admit I am a complete and total hack at all of these things, but this is fine, because the band is a wide variety of skills and talent!

If all else fails, play that drum thingy.
