It takes all types, doesn't it?

1.  On Friday at work a slightly effeminate man in his 40s told me he 'just wanted to pop into the dressing room and try something on real quick'.  Well it was a ladies' satiny gold and earthy-toned tunic style top.  And he was in the dressing room for AGES.

About 10 minutes into it I glanced over to the dressing room and saw he had changed from his 'normal' shoes into gold platformed style (a bit 40s retro) high heels.  A customer gave me a look and motioned to the dressing room, it was busy so went back to serving people.

Finally he emerged from the dressing room and by this time most of the customers had gone.  He was now wearing a blond wig, the tunic top and the heels and nothing else.  I had no idea where is 'man clothes' had gone to (a collared button-down shirt, trousers and sensible shoes).

'What do you think?' He asked as he modeled for me in front of the full-length mirror, 'Is it a bit short?'  'Weelll', I said 'all the girls are wearing them that short.  I looked at his legs.  They were slim, long, alabaster, and smooth. 'If you've got the legs for it.  And believe me, you're legs are better than mne!'

'I'll take it he said!' and he ripped the tag off and said he'd wear it out, he was going out tonight.  I sold it to me and told him to have fun and be careful. 'I will!' he said cheerily and left my shop and strode confidently out onto Town Street where a man passing my shop at that moment did a massive double-take.  [smiley=gorgeous.gif] :D

2.  I took a compassionate leave day on Thursday and Mrs.Robinson and I went blackberry picking.  A new-age hippie-ish looking guy approached us and said we had the worst Yorkshire accents he'd ever heard.  He flirted with us for a bit and then produced a business card (his very last one).  Apparently he does kundalini massage.  'I'm a bit out of practice,' he said, 'but I'm getting my fingers limbered up again!' and he wiggled and stretched his fingers out suggestively.  It was hilarious.  Mrs. Robinson suggested I needed to see him for a massage immediately.  I declined.  :o

3.  I had dinner at Mrs.Robinson's last night and her hubby made a wonderful rattatouille and homemade olive bread.   [smiley=chef.gif]

4.  I am going to go walking in the Dales today.  [smiley=daisy.gif]

5.  I just hate being sad and heartbroken.  I hope I heal soon.  In the meantime I am getting by day to day with more than just a little help from my friends.  It's taking bucket loads of help, but they've all been there for me.  :\\\'( [smiley=gossip.gif]

That story is hysterical, Andee!!  Who would have thunk it -- in deepest Horsforth!  Well, hope that kind of encounter is at least distracting you a bit.  :-*

Thanks for sharing! Hysterical stuff! You are right, if you have the legs for it, go for it!  ;D

Heartbroken and sad is no fun, but it is comforting to see you can find the humor in things. Keep moving forward, and let friends be there for you. I think as women we try to be strong and keep saying we are fine when we need people the most. Let everyone be there for you, because you are the type (I can tell by your posts) who does all you can to be there for others.

Thank you so much, good advice and kind words, thank you TamaMoo.

Oh, I forgot to add....he had a seriously stubbly more than 5:00 shadow going on, and yet his legs were pristine!

1.  My head is pounding this morning.  I'm back to not sleeping properly or nearly enough.  :(

2.  Only three more weeks of full-time, then I'm back to part-time before going off to Ireland.  :-\\\\

3.  The weather is looking good for Sunday again, I will most likely go up to the Dales again.  [smiley=daisy.gif]

4.  I decided not to see my MiL in case she is not as supportive as I need her be and in case she says things that hurt me again.  I know she cares for me deep down, but at the moment I'm too fragile to deal with it all.  :-\\\\  I'll try again in a couple of weeks.

5.  Two appointments lined up for next week--my passport interview and a counseling appointment.  :-\\\\

I need to find a way to get excited and inspired by my life again.  Any suggestions?

You have to do what is best for you right now, Andee. The fact you realize you are too fragile to risk being hurt more will go a long way toward healing. I am the 'I'm fine' type, who chokes it all down and will let someone say something I am not ready for. You can always visit her another time, when you are ready.

1. Packing has started. With a week and a half to go, it is time. Any clothes and shoes I want to take and won't be wearing in the meantime have already gone in. i still can't decide on what to wear for the main two nights out with friends. The huge gathering/pub crawl/need a rock goddess outfit to make the night perfect nights.

2. Mom's room (the guest room) is ready other than putting the sheets on the bed and a quick dust. I will wait until next Sunday for that so everything is fresh. She is really looking forward to this getaway for some peace and quiet.

3. Tomorrow I start training my replacement at work. Two days a week I do the breakfast at the hotel, and instead of the other woman doing it straight through while I am gone, someone has been hired to take over my days, then go into laundry when I am back. She is awesomely southern and sweet as can be. Despite being around my age, maybe a few years older, she was calling me 'ma'am' when we met yesterday.

4. We have discovered Walmart carries a Chicken Biryani flavor packet. Although it is cheating, it is awesome, and tonight we are having it for the second time this week. I suppose it is only slightly cheating, since the only thing we aren't doing is measuring spices for ourselves.

5.I am already beginning to feel like a little kid, wanting to ask 'are we there yet?" and these next several days are going to drag.

1.  I had my first optimistic day (since finding out about my husband) yesterday.  Then some idiot had to go banging almost relentlessly on my front door at 10:00 at night.  I was upstairs, in bed, reading.  I was really scared and started to cry.  It made me really angry (again) and sad (again).  They finally went away, was probably someone drunk who go the wrong house.  :\\\'(

2.  I'm now seeing a counselor (part of why I had an optimistic day yesterday) and will get about 5 more visits over the next few weeks.  I do think it's going to help.  Also we went to Relate for one visit and even though it was like this  [smiley=argue.gif] :\\\'( it still was productive in a way that meant we both were heard (especially me).

3.  Had my passport interview on Wednesday and received my passport in the post the very next day!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

4.  My counselor is into mindfulness and is going to teach me some breathing techniques.  Also says I've got to get back into playing my music.  I know she's right.

5.  Friends are continuing to be an amazing support system for me.  [smiley=gossip.gif]

Aww, Andee (((hugs))).  Counseling all sounds like the right thing to be doing and definitely, get back to playing music (as this is huge therapy to me!).  Also glad the Relate also helped your voice be heard!!!  Hang in there!

1.) Have been travelling all week for work, feel absolutely shattered. Flying home today.

2.) Knackered, but will be doing a 26 mile bicycle charity event tomorrow morning, very bright and early!!

3.)  Allotment end of summer party tomorrow night!

4.) Car went in for it's MOT and lots was wrong and going to be £££ to fix. Not sure what to do now, as it's really not too worth it.

5.) Planting winter veg on Sunday  :)

1.  Hope things get better for  you, Andee.

2.  We're moving house in December.  Already got the new flat, but it is a total WRECK as the previous occupant was a hoarder and never ever cleaned.

3.  Found out that the landlord for the new flat is putting in a brand new kitchen and bathroom, plus central heating next month, so it will all be done before we even move in!

4.  Received a belated birthday parcel this morning from my sister in Texas... 3 big tubs of Crystal Light in various flavours!

5.  Tomorrow a group of us are going to Newcastle on a pub crawl, and one of the pubs has got a petting zoo next to it... with GOATS!  (my favourite animal... I can hardly wait!)
