1. I have discovered that dieting and Halloween are not good friends. Today, Halloween is winning, and tomorrow is another day. So far, I have had a caramel apple, a popcorn ball and a few of the 'fun size' candy bars I bought for any knocking kiddos.

2. Tonight we intend to get cozy on the couch and watch horror movies all evening. It is already cold out, with a bitter wind, and the temperature is going to drop through the evening.

3. I did a bit of Christmas shopping while I was out today. At this rate I will be done soon. Yay!

4. We're going to winterize this weekend, probably starting tonight. Being in an apartment, all we need to do is use those shrink wrap window kits. It really made a difference last winter.

5. Slow weekend in front of us, which suits me.

1. Spent a bit of the afternoon wrapping Christmas presents. I can add gift wrap to the ever growing list of things Captain Coward (Joey) is terrified of. After today, I can imagine I am moving his cage to the guest bedroom while putting up the tree.

2. I told a woman off while shopping today. She was saying the most horrible things to her son, and I couldn't let it slide. She told him to straighten up or she was going to sell him, that she was going to leave him there to help stock shelves because he was bad and she just didn't want him living at her house anymore. Who says that to a child? It made me see red and I told her what I thought of it all. He was 3 or 4, and far too young to understand that mommy was just being mouthy and wasn't going to actually leave him there.

3. I have decided the Christmas tree is going up the Friday before Thanksgiving, since we are both working Thanksgiving and I will be making our meal the day after. Mr. Bah Humbug may not be as overjoyed as I am about the extra week with it.  [smiley=antlers.gif] [smiley=elf.gif]

4. Dieting with clearance Halloween candy, lots of Christmas candy out now and discovering Subway has gingerbread cookies now really, really bites. I knew it was going to be hard this time of year, but wow.

5. There is a chance of snow next week. I'm afraid to get my hopes up, but I fear I already have.  ;D

1. Worked from home today which is such a pleasure for me...I wore sweats all day and no makeup!

2.  Finally got some exercise this week and went for a jog at lunch.

3.  Created and ordered our Xmas cards so we can post them before Thxgiving this year (and actually reach our international friends & family before the 25th!)

4.  Sent in our deposit for daycare in our new town in the UK.  Glad we did as there is only space opening up in the new year for my older daughter and we got it!

5.  Cooked a nice piece of steak for my husband for dinner tonight (it is a rare great for him since I don't eat need myself and rarely cook it for him)

Have a wonderful weekend all!!

1. Another Friday off work, another day spent running errands and catching up on housework. I keep promising myself I am going to take a day off for myself. Yeah, that will happen.  ::)

2. In my shopping adventures today, I found a few Snoopy Christmas ornaments for $1 total, and a tree topper I actually like that was in my price range.

3. Diet root beer sucks. That is all I can say about that subject. Dieting sucks. I am starting to feel results so I will keep with it, but it isn't much fun.

4. There is a chance of snow Sunday. Reports are ranging from 'a dusting, or maybe just flurries' to 'significant snow event'. I've probably jinxed it all by buying rock salt.

5. Two weeks until the tree goes up!  [smiley=antlers.gif] [smiley=elf.gif]

I haven't done a Friday Five in a while as I feel I don't have a lot of positive stuff to share, but I will try and do one right now.

1.  I am still struggling.  I won't use the word depression as that scares me too much but I have a lot of grief still.  I almost feel as if I am back to square one.  I am missing my husband so much, every day.  I am missing the life we had together even though there were problems and he hid so much from me.  :\\\'(

2.  I have been given a fantastic opportunity to live and work in Ireland and I am so grateful for it.  I hope I will heal enough so that I can fully appreciate it.

3.  Went to the pub last night and heard some fantastic music, it was like a free concert.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

4.  I have been asked to make one of my soups for a group in on Tuesday.  I'm glad my cooking is appreciated.  [smiley=chef.gif]

5.  I have been reminded by Mrs.Robinson and my friends here that I am doing well and so much better than expected.  Down days (even a run of them) are normal and I will be OK.  A flower for hope......  [smiley=daisy.gif]

That is the trouble with grief. Just when you think you are starting to see the sunshine again, BAM! out of nowhere, it comes back around and kicks you in the head. Time has a way of lessening the pain, not taking it away, where it may still hurt to think of some things, but it isn't the all consuming agony it once was. There is no set timetable, rhyme or reason for getting to that point, but just keep loving yourself and looking for positives every day, and you will get there.

Thank you BostonDiner and TamaMoo for hugs and hopeful flowers.  That means a lot.  Hugs to you both back. xxx

1. I think I am finished with our Christmas shopping, other than a few more things for Joey, and mom and dad's. I did the weekly shop, the Thanksgiving dinner shop and some Christmas shopping today. As my reward I treated myself to a coffee mug that has Snoopy on his doghouse that is decorated with Christmas lights. It had far less calories than the Dairy Queen Blizzard I actually wanted.

2. I finally got Queen sheets for the guest bed, instead of tucking California King sheets  to make them fit. Funny the odd things that make you feel like an adult.  ;D

3. Clothes are getting looser!   [smiley=2thumbsup.gif] I love the stage of dieting where I start to notice.

4. Tomorrow is one of my early days at work, but we've decided to spend the evening with movies and beer so it will be nice to finish earlier.

5. The Christmas tree goes up next Friday! JOY!

1.  No Christmas shopping whatsover to do this year.  :-\\\\

2.  Still missing my husband.  :\\\'(

3.  Going to do an organized litter pick up (and dry stone wall fixing for those who prefer that) this morning starting on the beach at Fanore.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

4.  Just been facebook chatting with my 'old' ex, he has been very supportive and sweet to me.   :)

5.  Spoke with my nutty mom via Skype to her landline last night.  She loves me and misses me.  :)

Still sending hugs, Andee!

1. Mom and dad came up Wednesday for a visit and a Thanksgiving meal. We had the added surprise of my niece Shanna and great nephew Braxtin. (Shanna had Brax for the evening and night since both his parents were working extra hours ahead of Black Friday) We had a great visit Brax is always so much fun. He just turned one on the 23rd, and is getting pretty good at walking.

2. I put up the Christmas tree at work yesterday and ours today. I still need to put the rest of the ornaments on ours, but tomorrow is another day. I enjoy it too much to rush it.

3. We had our Thanksgiving this afternoon after hubs got off work. I spent the morning cooking, baking and working on the tree. I managed to squeeze in two loads of laundry but the rest of the housework can wait.

4. We woke up to a dusting of snow yesterday. It was pretty, but as always, I wanted more. We've had two dustings so far. Just enough to get my hopes up.

5. There are three high school basketball teams staying at the hotel this weekend. Tomorrow is going to suck. I hate when teams stay because there is never enough adult supervision. At least I am off Sunday.
