HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BABY! :) Definitely pick something up for yourself and charge them and tell them that the baby wanted you to be happy so picked something for yourself instead hahahaha. Did your husband tell them there won't be cake available Sunday? :p Seriously I would be like "oh sorry! We're actually out sunday!"

1. Work has been a nightmare. I'm a PC doing a PM job at the moment and it's SO stressful! been in escalations for the last two days because of issues and so I'm effectively in the sh*t trying to resolve it (and I went to wfh yesterday because I was so stressed that I was just feeling crap). So I guess I'm really happy that it's about to be the weekend and therefore nobody can bother me about this because nobody will be online! :)

2. Been feeling ill because of the stress I think (had to miss book club the other night because life has just been so crazy). I nearly tried to get away with working from home today as well but I felt way too guilty hahah

3. I'm going to see Infinity War this weekend :D Need to marathon some of the DC films we've not seen yet prior to going to the cinema so that will be an intense day or two  ::)

4. IT'S PAY DAY!!!!!! (I feel like this should have probably popped up first and foremost LOL) I will effectively be broke again due to all the purchases I made on my credit card this month (genuinely spent £75 on a board game..oops) and paying bills/student loans, but I'm just happy to have money at the moment while it lasts.

5. We're hopfully going to make more progress on the bathroom this weekend. We are on the stag do next weekend (so, I'm unhappy about this but have to miss the expat Cinco De Mayo party!!!! :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'( :\\\'( ) so really need to make progress this weekend as my parents will be here before we know it!

OH! And bonus one to make up for the negative parts (trying to stay positive today!), we got our Royal Ascot tickets in the mail! woohoo! It looks like a proper fancy wedding invite or something haha. I need to go and get a dress now...

1. The novelty hasn't worn off... my husband is home every day!  EEEeeeee!

I just chuckled out loud at my desk hahaha my husband has now started his new job where he can work from home and he was working from home today after I had already said that I thought I might be cheeky and try to work from home as nobody in my team was in. He got a message that he could work from home. We just work SO differently (I like background noise while he can't stand it) and we both like working from the same space - for starters. Sooooo I decided to come in today, just a bit later than normal and may leave early haha I feel your pain.

Haha you are brave to keep a spreadsheet of game wins with your husband. We are SUPER competitive (with each other only lol) so I feel like there would be blood and neither of us would pull the "time to go to bed" card as the games we play have clear endings and we WILL play until somebody has won fair and square haha

What day are you going?  I'm going on Ladies Day.   ;D

Almost decided to go on Ladies Day but we decided to do opening day instead

We definitely should do an expat race day one day!! Maybe not this year, but certainly next year!

Is it really Friday again!
oh, wow.

1) My cilantro has bolted. It had a long, productive life so it's time to start more. I have more rocket than I know what to do with.  I really didn't expect all the seeds to grow. It appears they all did.  The Cayennes have put on many more leaves and, while a bit on the dwarf side, are about to bloom. The Jalepenos are just now starting to have a growth spurt. All the peppers like a warm climate, so perhaps it's just now gotten warm enough inside the Kitchen Garden (with mylar wrap) for them to be happy. I got a Venus Fly Trap to help with extraneous flying insects in the "kitchen garden." Neat little plant. It is sitting on a lower shelf, well-shaded. Am fighting the temptation to "feed" it.

2) It is cooler out today, but appears that it's going to be on-and-off sunny.  In a bit I believe I'll "get dressed" (aka, putting on out-of-the-house clothes) and have a nice walk somewhere. If I go to the gardens I must remember to take popcorn seed for the pigeons. It might be nice to sit on a bench in the sun, out in the fresh air, for a while. Note to self: it's a sea of daffodils over there. Take an antihistamine before going out.

3) We've been trying to find a way to use our two old Nokia C1-01 phones here. They are unlocked and we used them for years in the States on a number of different carriers (until our local area killed G2/G3 service). We have EE payg and their sim card is one of those multi-size ones, where you can snap out the smaller sim if you need it. Unfortunately, the C1-01 has rather clear directions in the instruction book to not use one of those - it needs to be the old standard size, one-piece sim. Neither of our C1-01s will work on the EE sim. We took them all to the EE store and the guy couldn't get it to work, either. No network signal at all. (We brought a number of phones with us, because we had 'em laying around. It works in the old Consumer Cellular flip phones just fine.) The Daughter really wants to use her old phone, but so far I'm not finding a carrier that still has those one-size old sim cards. I'm not above switching providers to make it work. Anyone know of one?

4) The Daughter brought home a huge stack of books from the library to do research in. I gotta say, it's interesting reading. (She's very tired today and is "decompressing". Looks like she's been through a war. It's been a long semester.)

5) Thor Hamsterdahl is... kinda growing a pair. Poor guy, it's that time of year. He's going stir-crazy in his cage, chewing like mad, wanting "out" to go find a girlfriend. It's sooo sad.  It's like the Amok time on that old Star Trek episode. (I'm so happy Star Trek is on every day. Familiar things....) Anyway, I'm going to reconfigure his cage a little bit with several new "floors" of cardboard for him to have to run around on to look for seeds. Thankfully this doesn't last too long - I hope anyway. Our dwarf hamsters did this every year for a couple of weeks and then things would subside. Not sure it works that way for a Syrian hamster. For his little sake, I sure hope so! At least he has his wheel.  ::)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to baby KF!

The match rules are because we needed to give a clear ending.  Last year, we'd play 'til we were tired, or it was starting to look inevitable.  But this year, now that we're officially keeping track, we needed clear parameters for when a match ended.  At 20 points + 10-point-spread, the match automatically ends.  If we want to continue playing that night, we start a new match.  Some matches have been known to go on over a couple of weeks because we can't quite get the 10-point advantage.  The match that commenced 2 March (row 11) is one that took ages.

My husband and I work really well together... But we have to both actually be working.  If I'm trying to work on something and he has nothing to do, he is demonstrably bored and does soooo much to try to get my attention.  I struggle with attention span, so it doesn't take much on his part to distract me.  It's really annoying when he's specifically asked me to look something up or read over something he's written, or something.  He can't just wait quietly.  He's lucky he's cute.  :P

Ahh Friday.

Happy birthday little man! I am sorry the in laws are so... Not involved or interested. :(

And PB... I feel your work pain, but not for the same reasons. I really hope I can at least get some interviews soon.

1. Biggest and best thing first. We pick up our car tomorrow. Yay!

2. Stress induced anxiety sucks. I've hated my US job since I took it last year, and the things that make it very difficult for me have only gotten worse since moving over here. It has nothing to do with the technology and everything to do with management. If I don't have a clear idea of what I should be working on when the list is a mile long of current projects (and half of them aren't even in the list because no one is managing it) I just freeze and sit there staring at the screen. Throw an open ended school assignment (write a very short research paper on anything with 3 sources) onto that, plus the NHS being jerks and I end up unable to function. I'm getting back to a baseline but it's been a rough few days.

3. To pick up the car, we have to go back to the in laws. I'm cooking this time. I don't think my MIL believes I have allergies, because turning red and struggling to breathe wasn't quite obvious enough. :(

4. Why are pillows here such crap? I've been trying to replace the ones i had in the US and haven't been able to find anything comparable in quality. :( things have wonderful reviews and they're just flat gross pillows. I really need a high quality body pillow because my ribs collapse and my hips slide out of place when I sleep. Wishing I had kept mine and shipped it, but everything in my shipping crate smells like cigarette smoke, even things in sealed bags, so it probably would've been ruined anyways. But I'm tired of waking up in severe pain.

5. I'm really looking forward to adventures now that we'll have a car. Any favourite places that don't require lots of walking?

Costco!   ;D

You might not want to take your shiny new car, but Longleat Safari Park is about an hour away and there is a big section that you drive your own vehicle around to look at the animals.  Just avoid the monkeys to avoid damage!

Was just going to say that most places I can think of involve a fair bit of walking (but you could stop and shops and rest if you wanted?) but outside of that, all I could think of was the Safari Park! I've been dying to go to one! haha Husband isn't keen because of the monkey's destroying stuff...

Many tourist attractions these days have wheelchairs that you can borrow when you get there.

Yeah, I would love to go to one where *they* drive you. I don't want to take my car through that!

I'm somewhat hoping I can get a wheelchair so that I can worry less about walking. But I can go for a while on crutches as long as I can rest and don't have anything physical to do for the next week.

Hey guys!

Just gonna add, happy birthday to the little!!

1. Today was my daughter's last large school event in the states, first-grade Fiesta parade and it was a success!

2. My writing has been super productive lately as I no longer sub with the impending move

3. This is our last Friday in Texas!

4. I'm pretty sure there is Disney Karaoke in my future this weekend.

5. The lease is already up on our Flat on the 9 x.x and he's asking if I want to renew or move some place new and I've not even seen the flat lol

3.  OH is at Paisley beer festival tonight.

4.  no plans for the weekend, which is fine with me.

5.  Great ending on EastEnders tonight!
