How do you even start an email to that person knowing their email address is what it is? Do you think they realised how awkward and hilarious it is to use that email professionally?!

First thing I did after I stopped laughing, was to look through their file to see if there was any ID like a passport or something else with their photo so that I could put a face to the name!    :-X    No joy, though!

Could you imagine though?  If you then saw the person in real life?  But then again, an email address isn't a secret really.  So they must have no shame!

SOOOO my husband and I are both WFH today and he was laughing at somebody's email from ebay and it wasn't anything bad, it just sounded slightly silly/fun a as a name. It then jogged my memory and I was like OH MAN! SOMEBODY HAS THIS REALLY GROSS EMAIL! and I told him and his response was to try and find something that might justify it and not make this person such a gross individual and he was like "uh....maybe....maybe that person just likes dogs AND lipstick a lot?" I was like BUT SURELY THEY'D THINK ABOUT HOW THAT LOOKS?!

I'll mention it to my husband.  I bet he also tries to justify it.   :D

haha he definitely laughed first and then he was like "surely nobody would blatantly have something that gross as an email they use for professional stuff?" and then he went in to try to justify it. See what your husband says! haha

I actually went to Urban Dictionary to see if there was a more innocuous definiton, but no, that's the only one they gave!  ;D

1.  I eventually did get to see a driving licence photo of Mr Dog's Lipstick.  He looks a lot like Nigel Blackwell out of Half Man Half Biscuit.

2.  Bank Holiday Weekend!!  My OH always goes to the pub on a Sunday -- I just might join him this weekend, as I don't have to work on the Monday.

3.  Got my nephew's high school graduation announcement (USA) in the post... jings, these things have come a long way since I graduated!  Lovely foldy-outy paper with 6 or 7 nice photos of him and a wee story about what his high school years have meant to him and what he is going to do next (studying Mechanical Engineering as Oklahoma State University, apparently).

4.  Went to Ikea last night and spent £58 on bits and bobs like cushion covers and spoons and oven gloves.  Also bought a set of heavy, sturdy, un-slippable, crockery... in a beautiful teal-sort of colour for £18.  I think the Corelle is just going to have to be consigned to history as a slightly expensive mistake, unless I can shift it on eBay.

5.  Also at Ikea, I bought a couple of frozen bags of their cinnamon rolls.... not quite on a par with Cinnabon, but still very good, and I intend to stuff myself with them all weekend!

Happy bank hol weekend, everyone!

Happy bank holiday weekend!

Albatross, those cinnamon rolls sound good... I wonder how they'd bake up in the pizza oven. ;)  My graduation announcement was just a small card announcing the event.  I didn't know what I wanted to do next, so there was no way I could've done what your nephew did!

My five:

1. It's not even 9am, and so far today I've sorted through our carrier bags (some are ready to be recycled, some are fine to re-use, and some aren't actually carrier bags at all, but things that should be "recycled with carrier bags; not at curbside"), started a BBQ pork shoulder in the slow cooker, folded a load of laundry, collected dishes from places that aren't the kitchen to start soaking them for this afternoon's washing up, and I'm about to do my daily French lesson.  I usually roll over and manage to just open my eyes by this time.

2. My ILR appointment is Tuesday (!!!).

3. My husband is nearly overwhelmed with stress about the ILR application.  He was fine with the FLR(M)s because our circumstances didn't change after the fiancee visa, so it was rinse&repeat.  But now we've moved house within the last two years, and we own our house instead of renting, and he changed jobs less than two months ago.  So we're a different category, and it's a lot of different paperwork.  He liked it better when it was second-verse-same-as-the-first.  He doesn't like change, and we've had so much change.

4. I've been providing guidance to a friend-of-a-friend on her visa application over the last several months, and I kept nudging her to join UK Yankee.  She finally did, and you guys immediately spotted something in her application that I would not have spotted if she hadn't done a full documents list before she applied.  You guys... I love you so much.  You saved her a couple thousand dollars and so much distress, as she would have been refused.  Once again, UK Yankee is the absolute best!

5. I bought food for grilling as I expect at least one beautiful day this long weekend.  We might also try (again) at baking bread in the Uuni.  (We tried a rye loaf last weekend, but it didn't rise sufficiently because the ambient temperature was too low and we don't have anything like "a warm oven" to put it in to help it along, and it didn't bake through inside before the outside went ... uh... very dark.  But we have ideas for fixing these things, so we'll try again.)
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)
