Every non-friday in this thread is technically a slow news day! :p

1.  Had a wee bit rain last night and it's a beautiful cool morning - pulled my hair into a ponytail and drove to work with all the windows down - singing along to Pele's 'Fireworks' album.
2.  Saw my favourite cow this morning!  I know it's a bit childish, but I look for her every time I drive past her field and my heart just feels happy when I see her... she's easy to spot, as she's one of only 2 white cows in field of black & brown ones.
3.  I've got a new sponsor dog... she is a Spanish galga called Brandy, and last week gave birth to 12 puppies.  For some reason, she has no milk, so the volunteers at the shelter are bottle feeding her pups, and she just wanders around a bit nervously from person to person checking each pup is doing ok...poor sweet thing.
4.  Dang, unsweetened almond milk is SO GOOD!
5.  OH wants KFC tonight, so yay... another night with no cooking!!

Happy Friday!!

1.) Work  [smiley=bigcry.gif] [smiley=bomb.gif]

2.) I had a stomach bug from Saturday-Wednesday.  It was wretched.  I am finally feeling human again.  [smiley=puke.gif]

3.) Missed out on a long bike ride last weekend because of said bug, and haven't made it to the gym at all this week,  so I'm behind on my training for my 50 mile charity cycle which is in 2 weeks time. I  am not in a bit of a panic!  [smiley=help.gif]

4.) My hens seem to be bottomless pits at the moment. Which seems odd, because I would have thought that they would have eaten less in warm weather.   ???

5.)Just wiped something sticky, smelly, and rancid off my keyboard at work. Goodness knows what that was.... Ewww.... [smiley=bleck.gif]
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!!!

Love that you saw your cow Albatross!

Sorry about the bug PB.  You'll be fabulous at your charity bike ride.  Slow and steady wins the race!

1.  I see Hamilton tomorrow night!  I know very very little about the show.  Looking forward to seeing it though.

2.  SO SO SO much work today.  Anytime you see me on UK-Y today remind me that this is time I'll have to spend working this weekend...   ::)

3.  Finally pressed the button to order two new trees for our back garden.  Two maple trees. One October Glory and one Crimson King.  They'll take a couple of weeks to arrive.  and DAMN trees are expensive!

4.  (Supposedly) there is a cold front coming through and we'll drop down to 20 on Sunday.  I can't wait for the slight break!

5.  My diet is going well.  I feel better in my clothes and am feeling better about myself (down a stone at this point).  Still a long way to go.  Trying to keep going strong until holiday at the end of August.

Albatross, your start to your day sounds so happy!  I'm glad you spotted your favourite cow, and got to enjoy the cooler weather.

Oh, PB... I'm glad you're feeling better.  That's a long time to be ill with a stomach bug.  Blah.  Regarding your keyboard goo, do you share your workstation?  Was it your sticky, rancid goo (less objectionable), or someone else's (totally unacceptable!).

KF!  Hamilton!  I look forward to your review!  I've heard all positive things so far, but not by people whose judgement I fully know/trust.

Hmm... five!

1.  As I said yesterday: surprise 3-day weekend!  Yay!

2.  Backgammon yesterday was really good... until my husband got frustrated with my luck with the dice.   ;D

3.  So far, the forecast is proving to be correct.  Heavy, wet clouds and the ground is saturated like it's already been raining.  The plants and birds like it.

4. Tesco man looked really hot and miserable yesterday, and I'd just received a box of choc ices.  I impulsive-Americanly said "Would you like a choc ice to take with you?"  He stopped short, and I could see that he did, indeed, want a choc ice, but he looked like he was struggling with the appropriateness of it.  I didn't hesitate... grabbed the box from the worktop and zipped the pull strip off as I said, "I don't mind, really!"  He grinned so happily and said, "oh, go on, then."  He looked so happy!  That 12.5p worth of choc ice made his day.  If he does Friday Five in his social group, I imagine that'll be one of his five.   :P

5.  It is officially raining!  Like, real, proper rain.  I'm enjpying it, mostly because I have seen the future (forecast), and I know my shunshine is coming back.

Aww, that's so nice!
I've given my guy a cold can of juice before... they do really appreciate it!

I literally looked around for anything less messy, more hydrating.... and cold.  Choc ice was all I came up with in my hasty (impulsive) consideration.  We have cans of beer and Coke, but not in the refrigerator.  Juice would've been nice!

Truly struggling for 5 this week, which leads me to my number 1:

1. This is the first weekend in SO long where I really don't have anything planned!! Will be so nice to not have to rush out to plans.

2. That being said...the lack of actual plans means I have to be an adult and do adult chores like tidying and laundry....much less fun..

3. We're picking out a mirror for the bathroom and that's the final touch :) I reckon it'll all be in place (and I'll post those pics) before Monday if we can find a mirror that can be delivered or picked up by tomorrow.

4. We've got our Japan accommodations all re-booked this week (don't think I already mentioned that?) so that's less stress AND we've saved a good few hundred because of how amazing Airbnb have been about the situation and their compensation! Hopefully will get more solid plans in for what we're doing and get some tickets booked for activities where possible...Going to be looking through all the hotels this weekend to book our 1 open night somewhere really nice/special so hopefully we find something nice for a decent price!

5. It's pay day today :D
