We are having one of those perfect days where it's lovely and warm in the sun and a touch of being brisk in the shade.  I love it like this.  :)

It's Friday!! And I'm still in the states... sigh... But I'm working on getting there soon.

Safe travels KoD!! I'm sure you'll have a blast.

ksand... Travel safe! At least you'll get to warm up a bit when you get home! And yes, I love autumn for all of my favorite shows coming back too! Need to catch up on Bake Off as well!

Nan... very sorry about your friend. This cancer thing is just awful. At this point, I'm not sure I know anyone who is not directly or indirectly affected by this disease. It doesn't seem to be getting any better... Only worse. I pray your friend wins the battle and, ultimately, the war and will be 100% again soon.

Happy anniversary, PhatBeetle!!! Here's to many more!

Margo... hope your driving stuff goes well. I can't say I'm looking forward to that aspect of moving!

JF.. Hope you've had a great birthday!

KFDancer... My stepdaughter is obsessed with Koalas. She's a part of some kind of Koala adoption program at the Edinburgh Zoo. It's so cute to me that these kids are so fascinated by these animals.  :D

Here's my Friday five:

1. Currently trying to secure a shipping company to send my belongings from Miami to the UK. Ugh. It's soooooooo expensive and I still have pets to consider. I see people who do things themselves and it comes out a lot cheaper but I'm on my own here in the states and have no one at all to help me. I just need companies to handle it for me. I'm not that girl who can do it all on my own. Just when I thought the stress was over after getting my spouse visa...

2. To add to the stress just a bit... I started my new online courses with Berklee this week. I am taking Voice Technique 101 and Getting Inside Harmony 1. While I am super excited about the courses and I love anything music related, it's still a lot to take on whilst trying to relocate overseas. But as they say, this too shall pass.

3. Got the new iPhone Xs this week. With the dual sim capabilities, I'll be able to keep my US number and have a UK number on the same phone. I'm kind of afraid of how much that will end up costing me monthly but it's probably gonna be the best option for me overall.

4. I'm super excited because all of my fall TV shows are back! This Is Us has resumed. It's so good! One of the best shows to hit the networks in a long time, in my opinion. Anyone else watch it?

5. I think we're going for BBQ tonight at my favorite BBQ restaurant here in Miami. Their burnt brisket ends are to die for!! Trying to make sure I get in all my favorite spots one last time!

The drawer fronts are all on, the drawers are filled with things, the workshop has been tidied, and phew!  Oh, and the mountain of washing up is clean, dried, and put away.  My husband made an effort at cutting the lawn while I dug out utili-kitchen, and he cleaned the leaves and twigs from the stableyard (again).  So, that's the not-house areas sorted, plus utili-kitchen.   Now we will have dinner, do a little relaxing, and then carry on with the tidying.  Ugh.

The drawers are a bit... utilitarian.  OSB with pine handles.  But we like them (for a workshop!).  :)

It doesn’t excite me.  The money goes in the last day of the month and right back out on the first.  Blink and you miss it.  ;D

Those are great!! Good luck with the rest of the tidying.

Honestly, cell plans in the UK are SO MUCH CHEAPER. A Skype number or setting up WhatsApp with your relatives will probably be more than enough. Look into options when you have the time.

The moving stress will be over soon, just keep swimming and being methodical and you'll get through!

Normally, it’s similar for me, but I’ve been working a load of overtime the last few weeks and have been waiting impatiently for payday so I can put it into my savings :).

Safe trip back home!  The weather is glorious today.  Hope it greets you this way.

I spoke too soon... my flight is being delayed 24 hours due to weather :(.

Actually, it was yesterday’s flight that was delayed 24 hours to this morning, then unexpected turbulent wind conditions today have delayed it another 24 hours... and they only have 1 aircraft and only a 24-hour leeway window for a delay on Sat/Sun, so it’ll have a knock-on effect on my flight.

On top of that, I’ve had one of the arrogant pilots hassling me both today and yesterday. This morning he was all smug and condescending about the fact that yesterday I told him the wind would be fine and today it has changed :(. He doesn’t seem to grasp how difficult it is to forecast the weather here (there are very specific local effects that are extremely hard to forecast accurately) and so his attitude implies that he doesn’t think we know what we’re doing.

I did notice that about the cell phone rates. My husband told me how much he pays and I couldn't believe it. When I told him how much I pay, he thought I was crazy! I probably am! LOL! I've got Skype and WhatsApp... but I'm just not ready to let go of my US phone number yet. Maybe after a year I'll feel differently. I know, it's silly.

Show him your special fingers on the way out!

I nearly spit my drink reading that.

It's obnoxious he doesn't trust you because as a pilot, you'd think he would want to have faith in the people keeping him and his flight crew safe. But hopefully you won't have to deal with him once you're back!
