Do it! I just finished it. It’s 8 episodes. I used her method for packing but never for the house and Oh Sweet baby Jesus... she’s a goddess. Entire bedroom has been done! Kitchen and bathroom up next 😁
OMG,  tried to watch this today.
They lost me at the 'greeting of the house' and saying thank you to the clothes they were getting rid of... thank you for letting me wear you. FFS.  ::)

That didn't bother me, I thought it was kind of sweet.  :)  What I couldn't tolerate was that woman in the first episode...

She was so entitled! That's been the common feedback I've heard as well. Overall I thought the show was cute and it did inspire me to work on decluttering, but some of the people on it were so out of touch with reality!

1.  WOOHOO!  Finishing up at work today for a week's holiday next week!
2.  Going to Manchester Beer Festival next week with OH and a bunch of our friends... we've got a crew coming down from Glasgow, and other friends meeting us there from Yorkshire, West Sussex, and Buckinghamshire (including a former UKY-er, whom I've not seen for over 15 years!), so will be great to see everyone!  Oh, and 500+ beers... if I'm not in my seat, you will probably find me queuing at the Tiny Rebel bar!
3.  I'm feeling glad that I saved some of my old clothes that had got too small for me... I can wear lots of them now!
4.  Got a new phone yesterday-- bought it outright for a change, instead of getting another contract.  My current contract will finish in 2 months time, and then I can change to a cheap SIM-only deal.
5.  My friend with breast cancer is reporting that her lump has shrunk!  YAY!

AH! Albatross! So pleased about your friend!! :D And happy you're getting some time off (take lots of beer pics please! hah). SIM only contracts are definitely the way to go, but buying the phone outright can be a pain (but worth it in the long run!)

My friday 5:

1. Submitted my application for ILR last night. Double, triple, and quadruple checked everything so I think it's right, but it feels like you can never reaaallyyyy feel sure and satisfied LOL. Was a total pain booking an appointment in as the core centres are the only ones you seem to be able to book outside of a 2 week window (apart from the special, high-end centres that cost more than double the price!). Appointment is next Saturday (26th) at 12 in Birmingham! Bit miffed that they charge you to visit (wasn't just because it was a saturday) after paying a higher price to use the new process in general. Thought it was a bit cheeky..Fingers crossed it all goes well and - if not - hopefully it gives me time to resubmit before my visa expires if not as I paid for the special service)

2. This has somehow been both the shortest and longest week of my life. On one hand, I can't believe it's Friday because this week feels like it's lasted an eternity but it feels like somehow Friday has just snuck up on me (and I'm okay with it!). Just need to make it through the next few hours....lol

3. Will be doing more shuffling of things and tidying around the house. Got the "will be kitchen" cleaned out last weekend but more things are still displaced. Kitchen stuff is to be delivered next week so we're in a good spot (just a bit more crammed in our new lounge).

4. Finally cancelled my gym membership. Joined when I started working here at October in 2017 and never went once but paid £21 a month for the option "just in case" LOL. Finally got shamed enough by my colleague to cancel the direct debit. She convinced me it was better to quit and put that money in savings every month for our next trip to Japan in November (ALL BOOKED! GOING FOR MY 30TH! WOO!) than to keep paying it out. And she's right, I should've done it ages ago (Rik had been hounding me for the last half of the year...)

5. My dog turned 5 last Sunday... We put a candle on a biscuit for her and she shared with her pupper friends lol. It's not really a Friday 5 but I ran out of things and it seemed fitting to put this at 5.

Wishing everybody else a happy Friday!
My, how time flies....

Friday again! Time is just going so fast.

1) Going out for tea when the Daughter gets up and around. (She works evenings so now has adjusted her sleep patterns accordingly.) It looks pretty frosty out there right now. But bright blue skies. Maybe we can go to the Botanic Gardens for a stroll if the Daughter is up for it. We went out earlier this week, when the wind was bitterly cold, and it really drained her. (My ears were burning - not in the metaphorical sense - as well. That wind was brutal.) Oddly, just walking down our street wasn't bad at all, because the buildings blocked the wind. But when we got to a corner and had to go down the other street that wind was straight into our faces. I'd forgotten about that. Must remember to bring  a scarf, no matter how mild it seems out.

2) I gathered all our trip paperwork up and organized, and wrote the necessary emergency phone numbers down in my "trip" notebook. (I always carry one, in case it's needed, with photocopies of the passports, etc.) Realized the trip insurance policy paperwork had not arrived. Phoned them, and they had the address wrong. Supposedly it is now corrected and they are sending copies. They did email a certificate of coverage with the policy number, so at least I have that. The automatic fish feeder arrived this week and works. I had two in the States, and one was to have been donated and one packed. The wrong one got packed - it's useless for flake food. But all is fixed now. It's been in "testing" for the last few days and been adjusted to accommodate the humidity. So our finned friends will be well-fed while we are away.

3) Daughter had a bunch of  small stuff sent to a friend (makeup, mostly) in the USA that we will pick up while there. I was able to order replacement gaskets for my pressure canner, as well, so I will have spares for when the current ones go south. I've been using the ones that came with the unit, and although I don't use it more than a dozen or so times a year the gaskets do age. So it will be nice to have the correct replacements at hand for when they are needed. Also ordered four dozen canning lids, as I was able to get them dirt cheap. I wonder what the guys in the airport scanning are going to think when they see the boxes of canning lids on the x-rays?  ;)  I'm kind of wincing thinging of having to go through TSA at LAX given the govmt. shutdown. Hopefully it will be done by then. Otherwise I think we'll need to get there even earlier than ususal. My back hates standing in one place for a long time, so the lines are just going to be painful.

4) All my US tax documents are arriving. I haven't checked yet, but I assume they are still fiddling around with forms and such and so one cannot actually file yet. Plus, with the govment shutdown, I can't call the IRS with questions. I think it'll be H&R block or Turbotax this year anyway. It's a simple return.

5) Have to place a Tesco order later today. I had ordered five packages of chicken for this past week to process and they delivered exactly none! I am down to one jar of pre-made chicken soup starter. We had the next-to-the-last one last night as chicken noodle soup. (It was good!) The Tesco delivery guy said that the delivery just before ours had a ton of chicken in it, too. Grrr. With Brexit coming, I guess I'd better get used to grocery orders being a craps shoot?

Bundle up, stay warm, drive safe on your trip Albatross. Glad to hear your friend is improving. Fingers are crossed for your paperwork KoD and happy birthday to the puppy!  :D

Your dog's 5th birthday totally is a Friday Five, KoD.  Also, woooo!  Japan!

Enjoy your time off and the beer festival, Albatross!  Go celebrate your friend's good news.  :)

I don't think it's Brexit.  I think it's Tesco.  Shopping with them has been a craps shoot for me from the start.  I really miss Ocado.

My Five

1.  I caught and removed a large mouse/small rat last week and then noticed no signs of other creatures in the house for several days... until this morning.  We need to seal up this house.  I'm pretty sure it came in through some hole in the walls.  :/

2.  I've been having weird and vivid dreams this week.  One of them actually made me wake up feeling terror.  I don't know why my sleep has changed suddenly.  No changes to my diet or daily routine.

3.  One of my weird dreams involved trying to persuade my husband to visit a friend at a place where she moved away from since I last visited her.  I told her about it and she said she dreamt she had gone back there to visit.

4.  We're nearly three weeks into the new year, and we have yet to finish a backgammon match.  We've played a lot of games and have swapped the lead back and forth multiple times, but we're currently practically tied at 34 (me) to 35 (my husband).  It's anybody's tournament!  (My husband totally destroyed me in 2018, and that outcome was evident from the very start.)

5.  It's Friday!  My husband gets off work at 6pm, he'll spend about 35 minutes driving home, then it's cheese nibblies and port, followed by Bailey's coffee and backgammon!   Weeeeeeekennnnnddd!

My Friday Five:

1. Off to Brighton for the weekend, to attend a convention for the TV show Lucifer :).

2. Just under 3 weeks until I head back to the Falklands again :).

3. This time it'll actually be summer in the Falklands. Okay, so it's not THAT warm, but they do get few days of high temperatures now and then (just depends on the wind direction). For example, today's high is 16C (Westerly wind), tomorrow's is 24C (Northwesterly from South America), Sunday's is 16C (Westerly) and Monday's is 12C (Southerly from Antarctica) :P.

3. Not sure if anyone is watching the Red Arrows series on Channel 5 on Wednesday nights, but they've been showing how they build up their formation flying during the training season... well, as I've been typing this post, five of the Red Arrows flew over my house in formation :P.

4. I've had such a lazy week this week... I only worked 2 shifts and I've been off since Wednesday morning, not back until Tuesday next week... so I've been binge-watching a ton of TV shows. First was Sex Education on Netflix over the weekend (it's pretty good, and filmed just 15 miles from where I grew up, though who knows what's going on with the Americanisms) and I'm onto SKAM now, which is also really good. Plus, I finally finished the West Wing (I've been trying to finish season 7 since October) :).

5. Why can I never think of a number 5? :P.

Getting the train (first class!), but thank you anyway.  Hope any change in the weather doesn't cause us any hassles!

I didn't know there were conventions for Lucifer.  This is intriguing.  Please tell us more after you've been.  Or now, if you know more details.  Anyway, have fun!

FRIDAY!  FRIDAY!  FRIDAY!

1.  I leave for holiday 4 weeks from today!!! Florida warmth and taking the kids to Disney for the first time.  Looking forward to it.  Haven't been to the US since August 2017 so it's time.  :)

2.  Husband's cousin's kid (who we love and adore) is in town from Australia with her American boyfriend.  They live and work together in Australia and this is the big "meeting the parents" trip.  They went to the USA first and are here now.  I know he was going out with just her dad on Tuesday (hmmm... maybe asking him a question).  Tomorrow they have their only day just the two of them in London.  We meet up with them in London tomorrow night.  Going to wander through Borough Market.  Have dinner at a swanky restaurant at the top of the Shard, and then doing an Escape Room.  They are staying the night at ours Saturday and then we are spending the day with them and the kids doing something (maybe Windsor Castle?).  I'm just wondering if we may have more to celebrate on Saturday night than just meeting him....   ;D  We shall see.

3.  Kids have colds again.  I swear, we are NEVER healthy in this house.  I miss Florida!  The heat kills the bugs.

4.  I sit on two boards and both have meetings next week.  To say I have way too much work to do between now and Tuesday would be an understatement!  I should not be on UKY.  But it's Friday and I'm not motivated.

5.  We are about to buy a garage door and convert our garage into a proper working garage that can hold the cars.  Currently it's boarded out.  We live such an exciting life!

And she's booked into the Bibbity Bobbity Boo Boutique.  Even though she's not a girly girl (at all) and has basically no hair, I still can't wait.  :D

This is the first proper one just for the show, as far as I know (other than some of the cast appearing at comic cons). I’ve met Tom Ellis a couple of times already but not the rest of the cast:).
