Friday!

1.) Laughing at the snow chaos. On the radio from Cornwall last night "We have about 2 inches of snow and it's total, utter chaos".    Has been snowing on and off around here, but a non-event, really.  And well the New Englander in me just rolls on the floor  ;D ;D ;D ;D

hahah same. I always say I HATE snow and people at work are all "How can you HATE snow?!?" and I tell them they should try living where they get 3x's as much at a minimum and going out to shovel before heading off to work and tell me you still think it's magical.

How do your chickens cope with the snow? Do they always live outside or do you ever have to move them indoors?
My, how time flies....

The chickens are coping okay. They're definitely not fans of the snow!  I start to get worried in the cold temperatures more about their wellbeing,  but chickens are pretty hearty.  But if we had temps worse than what we've had,  say if we started to drop from -15C, I'd bring them into the garage.  That would be amusing.

I say let the ladies in the house!!  :D.  Only kidding, I can see why that wouldn't work too well for any length of time!   ;D

Bwaaahhaaa. My hubby flips out if there is some dust on the floor. I can't even imagine muddy footed, poop spreading, scratching, pecking, egg laying birds in the house.

You may want to bring a day or two of clothes. Even just 2 months of sitting, my clothes needed to be washed when I got them after my house sold. Enjoy the tea!

Do you have luggage scales? That way, you can confidently pack right up to the weight limit.  :)

Yup. We each get one free hold baggage at 50lbs weight. We can each buy an additional hold bag/box up to 50lbs at $75 each. I kept the spacebags we used coming over, and a good number of them are going back with us.

We are both going over with empty suitcases (except for stuff we're taking to friends) and coming back with them packed, and one box each. (Rather than extra suitcases.) The Daughter is bringing back some clothes and crafts stuff she left behind, and my guess is that it'll take her suitcase and box, and probably half of my box. Which is ok, as I am not going to bring nearly as much - although I'm getting shoes, jeans, a good sweatsuit, and a lot of little stuff....  ;D

A guy I work with was talking about going to decathlon to buy snow boots!  I told him he'd have to wait until I left the store

On Friday I drove back and forth to work without any problem, just a tiny bit of snow at the edge of some roads.  I take the M25 to the M3, then take that North into Twickenham.  If anything, my journey was twice as fast because there was no traffic.

Friday night I see on the new that the M3 was blocked just a few exits south, with cars waiting 5 hours in the cold.  3 jacknifed trucks apparently.  WTF?  There must have been an eighth of an inch of snow at most!

The footage on the news of the M3 were shocking.  They must have had a LOT of snow.

I certainly hope they did as well.  There was nothing 10 miles north

3.  Got to rush home after work, change clothes, pack a wee bag, and then drive to Inverary for a retirement do tonight.

Had an absolute blast at the retirement party!  Great dinner, hilarious speeches, lots of drink.  The hotel we stayed in (George Hotel, Inverary) was lovely and we had a jacuzzi bath!!!  I had a 2-hour bath this morning and was just totally blissed out!  [smiley=angel.gif]
