I dream like crazy and usually remember them.  Some are sooo funny.  Most are bizarre.   ;D

Oh, don't get me wrong, I have no idea what my dreams were about.  There is only one dream I've had in all my life that I can remember vividly to this day.  I am just aware that I was having them.

I also don't doubt for a second that the sleep apnea could also be a contributing factor to the issues I'm having at work.  I'm tired all the time, sometimes I can be pretty grumpy (though I do not take this out on people at work, I am aware of the fact that I have "resting b*tch face"), I am probably easily stressed out.  So I am hoping being investigated for this will help in the long run.

That said, I am not impressed at all by the way this ongoing situation at work has been handled by my managers, and I am 100% confident in the decision I've made to leave.

Both things can be true, you might be having some problems that might impact work, and they might be dealing with it badly as well.

I always support anyone who wants to quit their job.  It's amazing how many people are exploited at work.  And they always find something better.

Once, I rage-quit the worst job I ever had in the middle of a shift.  It felt fantastic.

Did you hear about the Sonic drive-ins (three locations in Ohio) where the entire staff quit mid-shift recently?

At least they left a note on the door:
“Warning: Due to terrible management, the whole store has quit,” the note at Circleville said, according to a photo of it posted on social media. “The company has been sold to people that don’t give a f—- about anyone but themselves. Sorry for the inconvenience, but our team refuses to work for a company that treats their employees like s— when they have put everything into this store. We have worked too hard for top long. We are all off to better things.”

They signed the note with a very clear, “F— You.” They also posted a “Goodbye” and “Thank You, Next,” sign, The Scioto Post reported.

Friday!!

1.) Scottish Brass Band Championships tomorrow. Whoot. Hopefully we do okay. We've moved up a section since winning last year, so we don't expect to win. Just hope not to come last or second last so we get knocked back down.   [smiley=clover2.gif]

2.) Had a really topsy turvy week at work. Things have been sh*t, but some good conversations with my mentor, trying to move things forward and realign my career. (If anyone ever comes on a work visa, don't move to an area where you can't get another job in your field, because no other companies actually exist.)  [smiley=dizzy2.gif]

3.) Travelling next week for work to France and Germany and the following week to Indianapolis.  Home in the middle. Lots of aeroplanes and time zones [smiley=goofy.gif]

4.) Gardeners World is back on TV  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

5.) It's been an extra mug of coffee week.  Bus leaves at 6am tomorrow,so up early too.   [smiley=sleeping2.gif]
I've never gotten food on my underpants!
Work permit (2007) to British Citizen (2014)

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!

1.  Sooooo much work to do.  At home today due to sick boy - who's doing great thankfully.  No idea how I am supposed to get all this work done - at all.

2.  We have something planned every day of every weekend in March.  I just wanna big old nap.

3.  Had parent's evening for my daughter last night.  Got a glowing report (not gonna lie, a bit shocked as her behavior at home is trying most of the time).  But was told she is SUPER engaged in learning and great behavior.  Guess she's just "done" by the time she gets home.  Also got to see the ducklings that are in her classroom that hatched on Tuesday and Wednesday.  One is "at the vet".  Poor Sunny the duckling.

4.  Been so happy to be home this week and have my kitty on me again.  He keeps waking me to thank me for coming home, which is unnecessary though.  ;D

5.  My husband has been ill with a cough and sinus issue since before we left for Florida on February 15th.  He's still refusing to go to a doctor.  Men who are ill.  That is all.

Friday Five:

1) Survived another week. In a more-or-less good frame of mind. The Daughter got a raise at work. She also made a King Cake early this week that was to die for! One job I applied for has closed (no word) and I found and applied for another one yesterday. Had tea out with the Daughter one day, and ate at Non Viet for lunch on another. Enjoyed being out of the house and walking around in the shops. Been pouring rain, on and off, the last couple of days, so back to being stuck in the house again.  8) Have plenty of American coffee in the house. Life goes on....

2) The cayenne pepper plants from last year are blooming and fruiting like mad in the north window in our kitchen.  ;D  The cowhorn peppers in the south window are blooming a little bit, and there are three fruits on them.  The jalapenos, also in a south window, aren't doing much yet, but they do like a lot hotter/sunnier weather. The two-year-old superchili is also flowering again. So all successfully over-wintered. The new nosferatu pepper plants (from seed this year) have grown tall in the south window, but are not exhibiting the black color they were supposed to have. I am wondering if there's not enough sun yet for that? The horticultural oil I ordered seems to be working really well against the spidermite issue we had, as I'm not seeing the little b***ards on the plants anymore.

3) The Daughter ordered several items over the internet. One was sent via ParcelForce (oooh nooooooo). We were home yesterday - I was folding laundry in a bedroom and the Daughter was on the couch in the living room. Intercom buzzer went off. Daughter got up and walked (within seconds) to the entryphone and could see the PF driver, who pushed the "hang up" button just as the daughter was speaking. Driver apparently stuck a "missed delivery" card at the main door to the building and took off.  Daughter found the card when she got home from having been out, last night, on the inside window ledge of the entryway. (I assume a neighbor coming into the building took it from the door and put it there.) Card said it's been taken to a PO we are not familiar with - looked it up online and it's some distance away. She could go there and pay to collect it, or pay for redelivery. This all, of course, put the Daughter into quite a state.   ;)   She sent an email to the vendor, who has already responded that they have contacted PF with a complaint and that redelivery has been requested. Said it'd be "Monday or Tuesday" as they have to go pick it up back at the PO. Which means someone has to sit at home literally until the package arrives, as we won't know when it is really to be delivered. (Monday is our "go out and eat lunch together" day.) And if it's the same delivery driver, she'll have to be prepared to immediately run to the window when they hang up after 8 seconds waiting on the intercom and shout down at them that we are at home.  >:(    Have had to do this before with PF. I think the Daughter thought the woman had gotten entry into the building and was on her way up to the flat, so she didn't follow up on it right then. If it had been me, and I'd seen it was PF, I'd have been to the front window ready to shout out the window at her. It was literally the time it took to hear the buzzer, stand up, walk 4 meters to the phone and answer it. If it had been me up at the front of the flat, it would have taken longer as it takes me a few to get up from a chair.  Have raised a pointless complaint with them via twitter, but don't expect much from it. We are both relatively healthy and mobile - people who have trouble getting around are getting shafted by PF if this happens all the time. (As they charge for re-delivery.)

4) The joiner came to look at our window leaks yesterday. Same guy who came last year. Put silicone calk everywhere there was to put it. Said it looks like poor installation of the outside bits, to him. Relayed that on to the landlord (no response). I assume I'll see the leaks and the joiner again next March.

5) Would like to get our settlement/pre-settlement paperwork taken care of. Have to go to Edinburgh to get our biometric chips scanned. Apparently they are still charging (the Home Office) the 65 pounds each that they are not supposed to be charging, until the system goes "live" after Brexit. If we wait until after Brexit day, it's supposedly only the £14 pound processing charge each at Edinburgh Council offices we'd have to pay. Trying to decide if I want to try to get it done in the next few weeks, before the crush starts, and assume that the £130 I'll have to pony up is just gone for a long time, or....  I know we'll both get pre-settled status, but we do want to travel this year. I'm concerned that the Daughter will have trouble getting back into the country if we leave it, without some sort of post-Brexit status, since her "Family member of EU citizen" card will be void.

Sigh. I try to not turn the news on, other than the local news, often these days. If I fire up the Roku and watch the USA channels, it's the Donald. If I watch the UK news, it's that clusterf*** going on down in London, constantly. Or snitty little back-and-forth wars between politicians.  Thankfully, April the Giraffe is pregnant again, and due to deliver this month. I can watch her on the web cam on the Roku, to get away from "people".  ;D

Best of luck tomorrow, PB!! I hope you guys surprise yourselves (in a good way, of course!).

KF, well done on your little girl's glowing review! And I'm glad the boy is doing better today.  Say hello to the cat for me.  :)

KoD: PIZZA!!!!

Nan, would love to see those chillies.  As for the settled/pre-settled status, I understand the principle of not wanting to over pay for something that shouldn't be priced what it is, but I just went through about $10,000 in visa fees over the last 6 years.  Personally, if I was in your situation, I'd just pay the "exorbitant" £130 to have it done and dusted and be secure.

My five:

1.  It's Friday, and when my husband gets off work tonight, it's the start of another long weekend... 4 days!  I can't believe how much time he gets off at this job!  The contrast between last year (and the 14 years before that) and this year is amazing.

2.  My car failed its first MOT since we bought it on Monday, but I brought it in for new rear shock absorbers and a retest on Wednesday, and now we're all good to go.  No advisories, so my cheap-to-run little runaround car continues to be a bargain. (It was so hard to type "it" instead of "him" throughout this item...)

3.  Last week, I spent a ridiculous amount on groceries, not realising my husband had a 4-day weekend coming up.  Wednesday, I went back to the shops to buy a bit more.  By Wednesday night, I realised we were low on a few more things I missed.  I don't know if we'll make it.   :o

4.  Yesterday, after two weeks, I finally remembered to phone my GP surgery to get the results of my blood work from my hospital appointment.  Everything's normal.  Since one of the things they tested was glucose (and the samples were drawn right after my double-potato lunch!), that means I continue to not have Type II diabetes.  Yay!

5.  Steak and chips tonight!

Yeah, I've just phoned and left a message asking for an appointment for us. Apparently they do them Tues-Thurs, which is ok. They should be phoning us back and then I pay for the appointments. They scan our chips, take our pix, and then we get a pin code to use to finish the application online. Once I know when they are, I'll use my Tesco rewards to book a free bus ticket for the Daughter and we'll go over to Edinburgh for the day. She wanted to visit the yarn shop and there's a new exhibit at the museum, and we are hoping to visit the chihuahua cafe (to try to start sorting out if either of us are allergic to them).

Here's the cayennes. Grew them from seed about this time last year, and they produced heavily. I planted six seeds, thinking I'd be lucky to get half germinate. They all came up, and I've only lost one over the year. So we are well-stocked for cayenne peppers!  As they mature we cut them off the plant and add them to the string drying on the pantry door.  ;D
