That was why I said "thank you for the reminder" to JFK because I won't be back in the US for at least another year, but my husbands brother is visiting in 2 months and agreed that meds were small enough they could bring me some. I don't understand why you all attack me for clarifying why I wouldn't have recommended syrups and made the statement I did that is was difficult to find. Pharmacists looked at me like I had two heads when I asked for just guaifenesin pills.

Ahh,that's great that your brother in law can bring you some!  Not too long now. I did find some on ebay/import sites, but super ££££!

As an aside, sorry you felt attacked, as a moderator I didn't see anything that looked that way.  But I can just imagine you can sometimes feel at war when its another losing battle for things you can't find.

Yeah, it does depend on the airline.

The US-owned airlines seem not to  - I've flown United, American and Delta in recent years and they all charge $6-8 per alcoholic beverage. But British Airways and Virgin Atlantic do offer free wine, and I think some other non-US airlines do as well.

Thank goodness I'm on BA!

You're joking, right?  ;)
My family are tee-total, and expect me to be as well, at least during my visit.  :\\\'(

Oh JF - I hope you feel better and can find some relief soon.  I recently used the last of my Mucinex (which I admit, I didn't rate) during that really horrible nasty cold I had about a month ago.

Exciting about the job PB!  I hope it is the best thing to happen to you this year!

Albatross, definitely free wine on BA.  Spirits and beer too.  And if you go to the back at any time, they'll give you more.  Sadly they no longer have the Tuck In Box of snacks in the back.  :(

Let's see, me:

1.  Yesterday the necklace I have worn every single day of my life since I was 19 broke.  It's currently packaged up to be sent in for repair.  Thankfully when it fell off, I realised it while I was where it came off and so it wasn't lost!

2.  Had an American Thanksgiving at work last night.  There are 4 of us who are Americans (pretty impressive as we have about 160 in our office).  We went and ate meat.  ;D

3.  The kids both had fun days at school.  My daughter had her first non-uniform day of the year.  She was dressed SO EARLY this morning.  She was so happy to not have to wear a uniform.  Son had pajama day at nursery.  He looked ADORABLE in his bulldozer jamjams that said "Dozing off to sleep".  Boys clothes are so much more fun than girls clothes.  Thankfully my daughter prefers boys clothes.  Too much pink in the girls section for her liking.

4.  Have ZERO plans for the weekend.  Quite exciting!  Just the kids activities in the morning.

5.  I need to do some serious clearing out of THINGS this weekend.  How do we accumulate SO MUCH CRAP?!???!??  I know I won't feel like it though and will just sit on the sofa and pet the cat.  ;D

I just don’t see how one can survive a family visit without alcohol.   [smiley=laugh4.gif] [smiley=laugh4.gif] [smiley=laugh4.gif]

1.  My husband's cold made it's way to me, and it went chesty.  The thing I've been dreading for 7 years has happened: he has seen me at my pulmonary worst.

How are you doing @jfkimberly ? Hoping you've turned the corner.   :)
