My cousin told me yesterday he met up with a friend to play golf.  And he's the one who's always obsessing over the latest numbers.

The course is open?  ??? He might be the next statistic if he's not careful...

Sorry, should have specified it was in Atlanta.  I think a lot of things are still open there.

Yay, Mrs Chicken has bounced back to her happy, scratching, preening, squawking self!  Took her just a few days but you can tell she's feeling much better.

Yay!  Welcome back, Mrs. Chicken!

Also, I am so confused about days... when I saw there was a new post in this thread, I had to double-check the calendar.
9/1/2013 - "fiancée" (marriage) visa issued
4/6/2013 - married (certificate issued same-day)
5/6/2013 - FLR(M)#1 in person -- approved!
8/1/2016 - FLR(M)#2 by post -- approved!
8/5/2018 - ILR in person -- approved!
22/11/2018 - Citizenship (online, with NDRS+JCAP) -- approved!
14/12/2018 - I became a British citizen.  :)

I got this!  It's Friday!

1.  I only know it's Friday because PB's post yesterday forced me to be aware of the days.  Thanks, PB!  (Also, glad Mrs. Chicken is feeling better!)

2.  We have real food in the house, but yesterday I served my husband and I: a piece of cornbread for breakfast, "pickle salad" wraps for lunch, and a Chicago Town frozen pizza with a piece of cornbread for dinner.  There's no excuse for this.

3.  I don't understand bacon.  I didn't eat it much in the US, so now I have little reference to sort out what I need here.  My husband is no help... he bought a thing that doesn't resemble what I know bacon to be.  He was totally content with it, though.  ??

4.  Wednesday night, I made "bacon" cheddar potato skins, "bacon"-wrapped asparagus, and sauteed sprouts (fresh ones... not from frozen!) with a bit of "bacon" in.  I fully expected salt overload and to feel sick after.  It was bland, and I felt fine.  It was not the ridiculous overload that I was hoping for.

5.  The weather is glorious!

Normally I'm useless with food knowledge, but if you want to buy bacon in the UK that is like bacon in the US, look for 'streaky bacon' in a UK supermarket.

I have previously bought that, and my husband complained that that's "the wrong kind of bacon".  I think it might be a cultural difference.  :)

British people like their back bacon, similar to "Canadian bacon" back in the US. Thankfully my husband likes streaky bacon!

We like all kinds of bacon in this house  ;D

Happy Friday!

1.) Bank holiday. Sun shining. Gardening time 🌞

2.) Brass Band is doing a virtual quiz night tonight. Should be a hoot. 🤣🍺🤭

3.) Dusted off the keyboard and am trying to do some recording. I have a wee 4 track mixing board and can link to Garage Band so this is amusing 🎹 🎧 🎵

4.) We want to go to B&Q for some wood for some gardening projects, but both have agreed it’s non essential travel so will make do. 👍🏻

5.) Got an order in from American Fizz so I have E numbers and artificial dyes and flavours galore! Wheee! 🤤😁

Friyay!

1.  Should be in The Netherlands right now and staying by Keukenhof Gardens for the Easter weekend. C’est La Vie. Next year!

2.  Pressure washed the front path.  Waiting for it to dry before giving it another blast (if needed).  Then it’s annual seal.

3.  Husband is currently cleaning the playroom. We tried to hire a hazmat team but they are all working on other things. I hope he emerges and doesn’t kill the children!   ;D

4.  Spoke to the in-laws last night for the first time in nearly a week. Not impressed that my husband hadn’t called earlier. MIL still coughing. FIL over the hump.  Aunt in law hasn’t caught it so far. MIL is much better though.  Thankfully wven though they didn’t have a recurring delivery food slot, they have had zero issues getting deliveries!

5.  New neighbourhood cat keeps coming inside. Sobe does NOT approve. Thankfully he’s usually asleep.

On Friday I packed up 4 3d printed visors and gave them to my GP. She sent me a text today with a picture of her wearing it with all her protective gear!  Everyone in the family is so happy we are all dancing around the house.

Friday!

1.)  Man this week has been long.  There is a shedload going on at work at the moment and it's incredibly stressful. Again, happy to have a job at the moment, but it's been tough going this week.  [smiley=dizzy2.gif]

2.) Seedlings are popping up everywhere. Incredibly grateful to have a garden at the moment.  [smiley=daisy.gif]

3.)  Brewed a clone of Timothy Taylor's Landlord last weekend , so it will be ready for racking off for secondary fermentation now.   [smiley=Mr-T.gif]

4.) Did a pub quiz with my family in US and my in-laws in UK last Sunday and it went down a storm.  It was hard trying to get the balance of questions between the US/UK, but it was really good.  Hope to do again.   [smiley=smart.gif]

5.) Supposed to be lovely weather this weekend. Hope to get out on the bicycle.  [smiley=hippy.gif]
