"The only thing you get in a hurry is trouble," ?

Yes, because I ordered at the last minute and then asked them if they could hurry getting my order out the door.  They were being funny.  And wrong, because what I got in a hurry was a free coaster and next-day delivery at no extra charge.  Their quote is wrong.  :)

FRIYAY!

I'm early but tomorrow will be manic.

1.  Home schooling - HOLY sh*t!   Two parents working full time, a 6 year old who has to log on twice a day for live streams, and work to do around those, feeding, laundry, on and on and on.  Yes, they needed to close schools.  BUT *bleep* ME HARD!  This has been one of the most difficult weeks of my life.  This is not easy on kids, parents, or teachers.  I just want my child to be able to go to school and learn from a proper teacher and get a good education.  I'm okay for 7 weeks until half term.  I am NOT okay with kids missing an entire term of school. Kids learn a ton in school.  This entire generation is missing out on some real development fundamentals.  And so much about school isn't the work, it's the learning how to live in the real world.

2.  Work - budgeting for next fiscal year.  FUN TIMES.  I think I have an interview for a local, permanent role back at my old wage coming my way.  We shall see.

3.  I have my date for my employment tribunal against my previous company.  Not until July.  Need to officially appoint my solicitor.  First lot of paperwork due February 4th!

4.  We are still awaiting our extension quotes.  The race for space in England is very real!

5.  We absolutely loved our Hot Tub Cinema we had over the holidays and look forward to doing it again!

I refuse to give the USA a spot.  I've been left speechless this week to say the least.

1.  this has been my first full week working from home--- I LOVE IT!!!
2.  due to the above, i have nothing to complain about!
3.  got a delivery from Abbeydale Brewery yesterday
4.  handed back the keys to my Clydebank flat on Wednesday... i won't miss the neighbours, the building, the area; but i WILL miss the humungous cupboards, built in wardrobes, and larder.
5.  Cosy Aromas wax melts ---- so much nicer/highly scented than Yankee Candles... I won't be going back!

KFDancer, I really feel for parents and kids (again). Not easy at all.
Albatross, yay working from home!

Friday!!

1.) Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Was -6C and snowing overnight.  We're having a proper winter up here and it's nice! Well, for the most part.  Did have to actually go onsite to work this morning though, so scraping the car and driving on not very well gritted streets in the dark was not fun.   [smiley=elf.gif]

2.) Doing some winter clean out this weekend.  Not that any charity shops are open for stuff, but need to make some space and organise things. [smiley=curtain.gif]

3.) Chickens are on lockdown orders ,due to bird flu, and probably will be until April, minimum.   They're doing okay, but it will be nice when I can finally let them roam about again. O0

4.) Need to order some more brewing ingredients. Long winter, nothing to do but do some brewing [smiley=chef.gif]

5.) Working on some new recording things. My Dad is going to send me some microphones and useful bits and pieces as he's been cleaning out things on his end. These things are expensive as hell, so I'm very grateful!   [smiley=guitarist.gif]

Long time no chat :) Hope everyone is hanging in there.

1. Have officially moved into my MIL’s house. It’s *very* full with everyone living here but luckily we all get along.

2. We’ve had an offer accepted on a house (woo!) and are waiting for the mortgage to be processed. It’s in a nice area and ticks all of our boxes, plus we could afford it without putting me on the mortgage - meaning I don’t have to get the IRS involved. Win win!!

3. Husband was really unwell before Christmas and had to go to A&E twice and then was admitted and put on a drip. It ended up being a horrible bout of food poisoning...he’s rarely unwell and never complains so I was SO worried. Luckily back to full health now.

4. First week back at work over. Wasn’t bad and I like my job but I already miss my holidays!

5. Having a dog to cuddle with has been excellent!!

Happy Friday!!

1.) Halfway through January already. Getting lighter earlier! Little things!  [smiley=daisy.gif]

2.) Been a busy work week, full on.   Glad to be busy though.  [smiley=computer.gif]

3.) Playing some virtual board games with my family in the US tomorrow. Should be a hoot.  [smiley=clown.gif]

4.) Hopefully the increased light levels will mean my chickens will start laying again soon. Supermarket eggs are so not the same. :\\\'(  Little freeloaders!!   :P

5.) Hopefully some brewing on Sunday. Have some ingredients for either a black IPA or a West Coast IPA.  So it's a toss up.  [smiley=hat.gif]

Friyay!

The week has flown by!

1.  Interview with the CEO for the role I mentioned last week. Exciting!

2.  I had a proper executive coaching session last night in prep for the interview and it was fantastic.

3.  Deep in budgeting at work while trying to home school while trying to cook, clean, do laundry, etc., is soul destroying.

4.  Six year old told me this week she is sick of looking at screens. She needs to be outside playing, socialising with her peers, and having imaginative play. Not looking at a computer screen to learn. This is so sh*t!

5.  Weekend is nearly here. I plan to eat, drink, be Merry, and get my poor child outside as much as possible!

Happy Friday!!

1.) What a long week. Dragging....  Glad it's Friday  [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

2.) We're cleaning out spaces to improve home offices/music studio rooms.  Time consuming, needs must, no charity shops open to drop things off. But getting there. [smiley=bulb.gif]

3.) Getting an eye exam today. Going to town High street for the first time since July!  Exciting. HA!  [smiley=smart.gif]  ;D

4.) Need to add a haggis to Tesco order for Burns Night  [smiley=chef.gif]

5.) Hoping to play Trivia Pursuit with my family on Sunday over Facetime.  [smiley=hat.gif]

A day late, which explains how insane my week has been!

1. My week did NOT drag.  We are deep in budgeting at work and time is evaporating.

2.  The permanent job that I was hopeful for was a no.  No reason.  Just that me and the other final candidate were equally matched and that they simply chose the other one.  I suspect either that person was a bit cheaper or has a penis.

3.  Massive cleaning spree in my house today.  Felt good to finally have done.  Still a lot to do but a big chunk was tackled!

4.  Sobe had a good checkup at the vet this week.  It had been 6 months since he had been seen.  He's gained a bit of weight!  And his kidney disease has not progressed since his last review.  As a result, we are NOT going to accept the kitten offered for April/May.  The breeder was thrilled for us and is keeping us at the top of the list, so when the time is right, we will be able to adopt from her next litter.

5.  We booked a touring caravan for August this year.  My husband didn't enjoy driving the motorhome when we just needed to go to the store and such.  This way we will tow it and then be able to disconnect.  Will be a fun to contrast the two!  The kids are already SO excited.  We have zero idea where we will go, but we have the caravan.

Bonus inconvenient annoyance:  We have a squirrel in our loft nesting....  pest control came out today and set a trap.  UGH.

Happy Friday!

1.) Watching the snow fall again. Proper winter. Going to be brass monkeys this weekend too. -6C to -8C overnight Saturday and Sunday  [smiley=elf.gif]

2.) I have a 1967 Kent hollow body guitar that my Dad found at the dump when I was a teenager and he gave it to me.  It needs some TLC and I've got some bits and pieces now to try and get it back up and running. So will be playing ametuer luthier this weekend.   [smiley=guitarist.gif]

3.)  Despite the snow, the daffodils are starting to come up! Yay!  [smiley=daisy.gif]

4.) I finally cracked sourdough in the bread machine, because I am a lazy baker! It took me a few tries, but  yum!  [smiley=chef.gif]

5.) Chinese New Year coming up, so things at work are slowing down for a few weeks. But fully expect it to go haywire afterwards!  [smiley=computer.gif]

Happy Friyay!

1.  We had snow on Sunday. EXACTLY what was needed at this point of lockdown. We had such a fun day playing and it was great that it was a day we didn’t have to work!

2.  Major work deadline passed this week and I think I nailed it. Whew!

3.  I am really struggling with guilt with my 6 year old and lockdown. The school has done a fantastic job but the kids are the real losers in this whole scenario.  She isn’t stimulated enough mentally or physically.  She’s not falling asleep until about 9:30 every night.  The only way we can fix this is for her to return to school and activities.

4.  In a bid of extreme optimism, we booked a stay in Crieff Perthshire in Scotland for June half term. A girl can dream!  We can cancel with no penalty right up until we go.  Would be great to meet some of you if safe and allowed!  Real purpose of the trip is to see the 6 year olds panda at Edinburgh Zoo.... if it’s open!

5.  Going to try playing a game with my parents online tonight.  We haven’t done that before!

Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!

1.  Had a nice, easy Friday today in terms of work.  I needed it because for some reason I barely got any sleep last night... just couldn't shut my mind off, and even CBD oil didn't help.

2.  Friday night lockdown Facebook concerts are resuming tonight after a few weeks of nothing because Ian Prowse had Covid.

3.  We have got SO MUCH beer!  There were SIX deliveries yesterday!  I may have mentioned my boyfriend is obsessive...

4.  Been getting Hello Fresh deliveries for the last 2 weeks, and I really like it!  All the meals have turned out really nice and have been something different from what I'd normally cook.  And I like that there's no waste, as they send you exactly the quantities you need to make the recipes.

5.  Just made the bed with brand new fresh-oot-the-box sheets and blankets....I have given up on duvets as ever since I broke my arm about 8 years ago, putting the duvet covers on a super-king duvet is just too difficult.  Can't wait to dive into bed tonight!

Is that at the Hydro? It's lovely there! So much to do at that hotel.

I love Crieff Hydro - we used to stay there when I was younger as it's not far from where my cousins live :).

I have memories of having to eat lunch and dinner in the children's creche area of the hotel back in the late 80s, while my parents ate their meals in the dining hall (the children's area was all clinical and smelled like a hospital!). The last couple of times I stayed there, 20-odd years ago, we were in a self-catering cabin, because we couldn't afford to stay in the hotel itself.

Not sure if they still do it, but they used to have Scottish Country Dancing in the dining hall area on Saturday evenings - which was awesome, as I did Scottish Country and Highland Dancing from age 9 to 13 and used to perform at ceilidhs :).

My brother and my parents were supposed to go up to Scotland for his 30th in October 2020 and they'd planned to go for lunch at the Hydro, but they had to cancel because of the Scotland Covid restrictions :(.

No but I’ll check it out after your and ksand’s recommendations. If things are open, I’ll try to book something there.

We are staying in a gatehouse all by ourselves.  People Bad!
