1.) Our consultation period doesn't begin until the middle of January, so I won't know if I lose my job until February. So still in a panic about my immigration status, but will go and enjoy my holidays at home and at least don't have to worry about whether or not I can get back into the country. My boss offered to marry me though so I can stay. Hahahah  ;D
2.) Our Christmas party tonight is going to be heavily fortified with drink.
3.) Working on pulling together my evidence to switch to a tier 1 visa application!!
4.) Will spend the rest of the weekend cleaning, packing, and baking Christmas presents.
5.) I really worry about the folks losing their jobs, even more so than me, because there is absolutely nothing like this company up here in the middle of nowhere.  So lots of people will be stuffed and have to leave the area. Watching the world crash economically is not fun!

I can totally relate to this, to number 5, especially (minus the added complication of visa issues, which makes it much worse for you. I'm sorry!!!). Besides DH and I working here, I have two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law who also work here.  Not to mention most of the rest of the village works here or has a relative who works here.   :-\\\\  It's been dragging on for nearly 3 months now, and is getting seriously old.

1.  The private investor is back, and he brought some sort of asset assessor, if that is what you call him.  Commerical director says this may be the last step in the management buyout they are trying for.  Fingers crossed!!!

2.  DH took a day's holiday, so while I am here at work (admittedly, doing nothing) he is at home asleep!!!   ::)  I'm so jealous!

3.  I just discovered a Milky Way bar is totally different here than in the states, though I don't remember what they were like in the states, so maybe I am wrong, I just don't remember them being sort of like a Three Musketeers.

4.  Going out tomorrow afternoon for drink-fest with DH's friend who just returned from Iraq, and whom I have never met.  I'm sure it will be fun!

5.  Will probably spend a good portion of tonight playing the Sims.

1. Ice storm in Massachusetts -- state of emergency in central Mass.
2. Boston area has torrential rain
3. Commute via public transit resulted in soaking of boots, socks and trousers
4. Had to buy sweat pants in the Coop to wear at all-day professional development class
5. Temperature dropping -- will we get the ice?

Best of luck and happy thoughts re: everyone's job situations.  I had a big scare myself last week and know what a strain it puts on you and everyone around you!

1. My coworker bought me a gift for no reason.  What a sweet woman. I was almost in tears.
2. Sent my Christmas card to BF - hopefully he will get it before I get there :)
3. Going to Jamie's going away (moving to England) party tonight!
4. Not sure about the haircut I got yesterday.. are you just supposed to believe people when they say it looks great?
5. I actually remembered to bring my lunch to work today!

Be safe and stay warm up there in the Northeast, Boston!

(Don't forget, Jewlz, I wanna hear how it goes -- all the best)
1.  Impending major snowstorm due this afternoon.
2.  At 5:30 AM I phone the Inclement Weather hotline to see if our Prestigious School will cancel for the day.
3. Message to check back at 7:00 AM so they can consult with our Eminent University.
4. Check hotline again at 7:00 -- same message not updated -- run like h*** to catch the bus.
5. Email at work saying we will get sent home at noon (when the buses are few and far between)
