How lovely to see people popping back in for Friday Fives! Welcome back!!!  :D :D

Albatross, yay enchiladas! Yummmmmmmm!!

Fri-yay!!

1.) Uggh, week flew by because I was so busy and with really early meetings well into the evenings. Next few weeks are the same! Thank goodness for working from home when its 6 am and 7 am meetings and 6pm and 7pm meetings  [smiley=computer.gif]

2.) Mother's Day on Sunday we can actually, finally socially distance and see the in-laws outside.  Brrr, but will light the fires [smiley=daisy.gif]

3.) My husband and I are doing an online cookery class tomorrow night, doing Vietnamese Street food. This should be a hoot.  [smiley=chef.gif]

4.) Have a 60-Minute IPA finished primary fermentation and ready for secondary fermentation now.  Smelling yummy!!  [smiley=devilish.gif]

5.) Both my parents got their jabs  this past week and I am so relieved. My older sister had to go on 4 different computers on 8 different web browsers to secure their places, but she finally succeeded. I can't believe they never got Covid when my sisters had it, but I am so glad they didn't and now have been vaccinated.  Phew.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

4.  Been using Hello Fresh for a couple of months now and although I do like it, what is their OBSESSION with black beans???  Do any of you know if any of the other meal ingredient/recipe delivery services are better than Hello Fresh in terms of variety?

I've been using Gousto since August and I really like it. Most of the recipes are really nice, and I've only had a few that I wasn't so keen on. They have 55 recipe choices per week... a few that are staples every week (cottage pie, spag bol, mild chicken curry, lasagne, fish and chips, bangers and mash, pasta bake etc.) and then they have a pretty good variety of meat, fish and veggie dishes (though I don't eat fish so that limits the options a bit for me), and different cuisines (Italian, Indian, Mexican, Indonesian, Thai, Chinese etc.).

I did try both Gousto and Hello Fresh briefly a couple of years ago, but I found the Hello Fresh meals weren't quite as nice, so when it came to ordering again last year, I went with Gousto.

If you fancy trying Gousto, I can send you a discount code by email which will give 50% off your first box, then 30% off your first month.

Albatross, I second ksands recommendation of Gousto.  Great for our diet restrictions to shake things up.  Of course I find taking the recipes and ordering the ingredients cheaper but gets me to try new things.

OMG, I love 90 day fiancé. Jovi is scum.  I don’t like Natalie. Hazel wants a woman not a man.  Is Stephanie the one with the guys in Mexico? I feel like she’s Natalie 20 years in the future!

1. Week flew by. Major reorganisation at work, still no clue how it will affect me.  Technically only there until June.

2.  Was lovely to have kids back in school.  Though my daughter is still not falling asleep until after 10pm!

3.  Had to order new school shoes which was an impossible task with lockdown. Three pairs later, she wore some today so she’s stuck with them. Some shops are more essential than they’ve been given credit for!

4.  Our poly tunnel bent in the winds today.  Time to start fighting for a refund.

5.  Kids birthdays are next month and I have NO IDEAS!

Bonus : we’ve signed up for sailing lessons this summer!  Doubt they’ll happen but booked!

Stephanie is the one with the now-ex-fiancée and his cousin in Belize... her eyes are always glazed over and her speech is always slurred.  She is either always drunk, or on some sort of drugs.
OMG, KFD... have you seen Natalie's cooking videos on YouTube???   I know you don't like her, but you have GOT TO watch these, to laugh yourself senseless at the cringe, and also to fuel your dislike toward her even more!!  ;D

Oh yes, that’s the girl I meant.  She’s definitely at an all inclusive place.  I do feel bad for her, she doesn’t seem to have any friends.  That’s got to be tough.

I’ll have to check the cooking videos out.  My dislike is that I think she thinks she’s better than everyone else and hides behind religion.  The relationship isn’t going to work!

1. I'm very ready for the pandemic to be over. I'm glad I will have the first shot Monday, and that they're already on the over 50s. I do wish they had more data on whether the jab prevents long covid, because I won't feel too safe until that's known. But I really need a haircut. It's driving me nuts!

2. I've been struggling with how publicly to speak about the medical cannabis program I'm in. So many patients are pretty bravely sharing their names and faces in the media, so it's not just another nameless block of text for the government to ignore. But at the same time, what other medication needs awareness and for people to come forward saying how much it helps them? So far any media I've done has been anonymously, but I've been making more professional connections in the industry so it could be safe to speak with my name at some point.

3. This time last year I was being told I would be unemployed at the end of the month. This year has taken forever and dragged on at the same time!

4. I found a hydration drink that doesn't make me sick and works so well I have a lot more energy. You never realise how much low BP can sap energy until a small boost makes you feel human again.

5. I feel much less safe walking when it's dark where I live now than I ever did in any home in the US. The news in London definitely doesn't sit well with me. I hope some meaningful changes happen, instead of the authoritarian crap they're trying to push through at the moment - restricting protests and tracking complete Internet search histories.

Happy Friday!

1.) Getting my jab tomorrow! I've got some autoimmune & underlying conditions.  Was actually surprised that I qualified, because of the current state of my health (remission), and I thought I would end up in my age group only.  Covid has been a worry in my mind because of the potential for flares and how my body would react, even though I'm currently in a remission state, so I'm happy to be getting my jab!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

2.) Have meetings next week, all week long that start at 6am.  [smiley=computer.gif]  [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

3.) Craving some Cadbury mini eggs. I can't be trusted with them though, so I need to not buy them.  :-\\\\

4.) Definitely needing a bit of time off work.  Feeling drained.  [smiley=dizzy2.gif]

5.) Need to record a part for a massed brass band video.  Should be fun.  [smiley=elvis.gif]

Friyay!

1.  Draining week at work, I’m so pleased the sun is shining and warming my back.  Long may it last!

2.  I’ve pulled my finger out and have contacted lots of trade workers about different things around the house, including the full extension. Now the game of getting them to ring back and actually quite!

3. My brother has had some chest pain this past week and it seems to be caused by Covid in December. He and his wife are antivax. Hoping this changes his mind!

4.  On that same vein, my brother and his family have booked to go see my parents in May. I’m not overly happy about it.  As I said to my mom “if they do anything that makes you two ill, it’s not going to end well”.

5.  I’m ready for some warm weather!

1.  Drama around the house this morning, as the hound hurt his paw jumping down from the bed and was being a huge drama-queen about it and refusing to go out for his morning toilet break.  Almost made me late for work!

2.  Getting my COVID jag tomorrow!

3.  Listening to a 1976 playlist on Spotify today --  see KoD!?  I now use Spotify thanks to you!  ;D

4.  Making Korean beef 'tacos' from my Hello Fresh box.  Told OH that when we get back to normal, I really want to go OUT and SIT IN a Korean restaurant and eat a huge feast.  So sick of takeaways.

5.  Ash Sarkar became my hero this week, mainly with her comments about the royal family... she was one of the panellists on Jeremy Vine and I just really warmed to her and now can't stop reading about her.

I hope the hound is good now and that your jab is a non-event!

Happy Friday!

1.)  Ahhhh, this week has been insane at work. I'm very glad it's Friday.  [smiley=computer.gif]

2.) Had no side effects whatsoever with my covid jab last week. Interesting how it works all a bit differently in everyone!  Enjoy the rabbit hole of the science behind it all [smiley=smart.gif]

3.) My favourite music festival was cancelled again. Not surprised. Might be okay by late Summer/Autumn to have the other few that are around. [smiley=clover.gif]

4.) More fence painting and gardening this weekend if the weather holds out.  [smiley=daisy.gif]

5.) My Mom is in hospital (not Covid related) for something quite scary.  Feel helpless but they're taking good care of her. She's in good spirits at least.  I don't feel so daunted with the prospect of sudden travel to the US now that I've had my first jab (though a few more weeks for immunity required). I hope I don't need to do any sudden travel to the US though!  [smiley=confused.gif]
