Happy Friday!

1.  got my new specs this morning.  YAY... I can see!

2.  Getting my 2nd COVID jag this afternoon!  OH is getting his 2nd one next week.

3.  Pubs opening for indoor drinking on Monday!  I've taken the day off work... I'm hearing tales of a COVID spike in Glasgow, so I am hoping it doesn't affect this, as so many people are depending on it... for mental health and for income.

4.  Creasing myself listening to a 90 Day Fiancee podcast. [smiley=laugh4.gif]

5.  OH going on holiday at the end of this month... he'll be so happy to be travelling with his friends and going to pubs, and I will be so happy to have the house to myself for a week!

1.  Looking forward to our trip to Scotland in only two weeks. Would anyone be interested in meeting up?  We will be in Crief mostly but 2 nights in Edinburgh to see the pandas.  Needless to say, completely understand during Covid times (and normal times) if anyone is uncomfortable mixing. Figured I’d throw it out there!

2.  I’ve messaged Leah about being an admin and cleaning up a lot of the out of date pinned posts on the forum. Willing to give it all a scrub.

3.  I want to buy new lipstick. Covid sucks because you can’t try before you buy!

4.  The weather....  ugh, the weather.  Come on spring, don’t forget about us!

5.  Our new shed is in and looks fabulous. Female next door neighbor hates it (full planning permission, so no legal argument).  I feel bad that it bothers her.  It’s alongside their garage wall so doesn’t impede any views of any kind.  I’m hoping she gets used to it and realises it really doesn’t impact her.  But I like happy neighbors!

Friday.

1) We went to an "Estate Sale" out in the country that supposedly was to have a lot of vintage clothing and furniture. Mostly it was just junk. Daughter was very disappointed as she was hoping to get some vintage dresses. Plus, they were to start at 9:00am. We got there at 8:45 and it was already full-bore and a lot of the advertised stuff wasn't there. I did score a nice long winter coat (wool) for $15, but it needs to go to the cleaners. And I found a couple of old cookbooks, but there really wasn't a lot more than stuff that should have been donated to a low-end charity shop - some of it just taken to the landfill, really. The crowd was ghastly.

2) Watered the garden well last evening at sunset, as we transplanted a lot of marigolds and other flowers out there the day before. Looks like they were still alive and seem to be going to make it. Had wanted to get a lot more planting done yesterday but spent the afternoon waiting for a delivery guy and didn't get to. (Needed compost and the shop had closed by the time the guy did show up. Will try again tomorrow.) Soil temp is hovering around 60F, but I'm not risking my "babies" (Rutgers heirloom tomatoes from seed and also several rare hot peppers) until it's consistently 65F or more.

3) We are due for 70Fs weather all week. Pollen is high, but everything is green and lovely. People here do drive like arseh*les, though. Tommy Automatic (my Glasgow driving instructor) would have a stroke if he had to drive here.

4) Stopped at Fred the Butchers on the way home from the bogus estate fiasco and got some nice ground sirloin (92% lean). The daughter is going to make enchiladas with it. Also got some lovely sliced roasted beef from their deli. Have been looking for bargains on chicken - going to can it - as there is supposedly a shortage of it coming. Not finding good prices yet.

5) Daughter has been accepted to the local volunteer fire department. She just has to pass a physical and be approved by the city officials, and she will be in the "support" corps. (Taking coffee and blankets, cleaning equipment, helping in the station, etc.) That'll be good for her. Should meet people.

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! She's keeping Glasgow in level 3, so no indoor drinking there.  We're formulating a Plan B.

I would love to meet up, if we can work out the details!
Let me know the itinerary and I'll see what I can do!  :)

You should be ok... it's only Glasgow and Moray... the rest of mainland Scotland will go into Level 2.

Why does that not surprise me....  ::)

Thankfully you will have other options! Wish I was there, would happily have set up a meeting.
(I miss it. It still feels like "home".)

Inveraray is nice. Very small, but a pleasant stop for a few hours. Brambles Cafe makes very nice food.
Oban has a really good place down on the waterfront to get a Mexican hot chocolate.
Assuming both are still in business, of course, and open.

She could do worse. Of course, they're all Yankees up here, but, hey....  ;)

Happy Friday!!!!

1.) I did the #bluepoopchallenge this week. That was interesting!  [smiley=smart.gif]

2.) Horrible wet, cold weather.  Yuck. [smiley=help.gif]

3.) My husband *finally* got his letter for his vaccine on Monday. We're so far behind up here compared to everywhere else in the country which are vaccinating people 10+ years younger than him. Still, I am thankful and grateful and lucky to be in a country that has access to vaccines.   [smiley=clover2.gif]

4.) Dreaming of a warm ,tropical holiday. Sigh. [smiley=greedy.gif]

5.) Not. much. else. going. on.  [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

Hah that looks amusing! A really creative way to test transit time. I've had the formal "sitz marker" test done a few times and can confirm my transit time is abysmal. But I have gastroparesis so it's expected.

1. Really loving my volunteer role, and by slowly increasing the hours I "work" I do feel like I'll be ready to rejoin the workforce soon if this doesn't turn into paid work.

2. I was featured twice in the print edition of a cannabis magazine! I wasn't expecting that, I hadn't given them a headshot so there I was, sipping on my vape, among some of the most well known women in the industry. It was a real honor to be featured and welcomed into that leadership group though, some truly amazing people.

3. Getting a hair cut this weekend finally. My husband has decided he likes long hair, and may be growing a bears to go with it.

4. This is my next focus... The misuse of drugs act hasn't been modified in 50 years, and this has caused the UK to become the overdose capital of Europe. Its time for a harm reduction and public health approach! https://transformdrugs.org/ There is an MP letter on the website. :)

5. Ready for covid to be over. Husband gets second jab today, mine is in a couple weeks. I miss being able to do things when I have the energy.

Many, many years ago, my cousin's small child had a Blue's Clues themed birthday party.  My cousin and I made a blue paw print shaped cake ("a cluuuuuue!").  We had to mix in a ridiculous amount of food colour to get it the right shade of blue.  So, what I'm saying is, we did the Blue Poop Challenge before it was cool.  #CuttingEdgeScienceWork

My five:

1.  On Monday, my husband will be two weeks since his last exposure to the outside world, he is now working from home (and hates his WFH task), and I am fully vaccinated.  We're already relaxing a leeeetle bit, but come Monday, we're reunifying the house!

2.  Our anniversary and his birthday are in the first full week of June, and he has that week off from work.  I've ordered several thicknesses of mild steel sheet, and now I'm trying to decide which welder to buy him so he can learn to weld (I'll gift all the things necessary for him to get started reasonably safely). (Anybody with experience can certainly weigh in if you know why I shouldn't set him up with a MIG gas/no gas welder--he doesn't have the steadiest hands).

3.  Received a letter from the hospital for me to come for an appointment on 3 June to collect a recording oxymeter for an overnight study. When I called to say I can't make it, they said I can send my husband.  After 15 months of separation, I'm not sending my husband into a hospital to get contaminated again.  Especially the day before his week off is to begin!  Don't steal my sunshine!

4.  I've been playing a lot of guitar since his WFH started.  I plug headphones into my practice amp and play along to music on Spotify.  My husband hears nothing... well, very little.

5.  Workshop!  We needed some knobs for a project, so I made some.  Then I started calling them "flowers".  Then I posted a pic on Facebook about my newfound gardening ability.  Now my cousin's wife wants my cousin to make wooden flowers for her.
