1.  saw a slug orgy last night

2.  on a 4-week training course for my new role (same employer, just moved positions)

3.  I made tamale pie last night, but it wasn't a hit. And I wasted my last box of Jiffy cornbread mix on it.  The dogs liked it, though.

4.  No group dog walks this weekend, so I think I will take them to the pub on Saturday so I can say cheerio to some friends that are up from Crawley.

5.  Really fancy pizza tonight... might try to make that happen.

Happy Friday

1.) Such a crazy, busy time at work. And I'm getting more and more work!  [smiley=help.gif]

2.) More voice lessons ahead! So excited to get better! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

3.) I want fried chicken and country gravy now!  [smiley=chef.gif]

4.) One more week of work until a week off. I can't wait.  [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif] [smiley=balloon.gif]

5.) Never made beer on Monday, ended up doing some recording and restringing and cleaning up my acoustic guitar. So beer still needs to be made soon.  [smiley=guitarist.gif] [smiley=elvis.gif] [smiley=cowboy.gif] [smiley=bulb.gif]

Albatross - Slug orgy - EWWWWWWWWWWWW

Friyay!!!!

1.  OMG, A THING IS HAPPENING.  Seeing Bill Bailey at the Royal Opera House tonight.  Have had to scurry to get a babysitter.  Also going to Gordan Ramsey's Street Burger for dinner.

2.  I have 3 hours to be productive before leaving and I need to be productive in LIFE over the next 3 hours... let's see what happens!

3.  One week until holiday.  Need to seriously figure out what we are DOING

4.  Inlaws were initially pegged to babysit tonight, but are not due to their dog not being well....  I think they have entered "keeping her alive for the sake of it territory" and my heart hurts for them all.

5.  Big design appointment with a bathroom designer tomorrow....  hopefully we aren't completely broke when we leave!!

Albatross, I'm sad for the tamale pie disappointment.  Can we troubleshoot how it might be re-approached to be better?  I'm curious about this concept.  As for pizza, I have dough balls from my last batch in the freezer, but the forecast never suggests I should get them out.  I hope it's less rainy up your way.

PB, sorry(-not-sorry) for the fried chicken 'n country gravy craving.  If it makes you feel any better, I could've had twice as much food the other night, and I could've eaten it again for every meal since and it wouldn't be enough.  Man.  Nom.  Buuuut, the thing that has been stopping us was running out of chicken.  We bought some and groceries arrive tonight, so sorted!

KF!  Have a fabulous fun night out!  Enjoy all things (safely!).

I don't think I have five.  I'll list some things as I think of them, and we'll see how far I get:

1.  My older sister (not the Air Force one) got covid about two weeks ago, and spent five days in hospital.  She wasn't vaccinated because she's afraid of needles.  I was dying to ask her how she coped with all of the stuff she had to endure while in hospital.  She's out, now, and on supplemental oxygen at night.

2.  Fried chicken & gravy.  It happened.  It will happen again.

3.  I don't understand grocery substitutions.  I ordered some 1.5L bottles of Coke.  They sent 2L bottles of Pepsi.  No, Pepsi is not okay.

4.  We had a day without coffee yesterday.  It was my fault (ordered too late when the old bag was running out), and it is corrected.  We are back on track, now.

5.  I'm learning new things in Excel!... mostly to learn how to do the things when my husband asks "is there a way to...?" and I'm all, "I think so, let me look."  I like his new (temporary) role.

JFKimberly ,I'm glad to talk about fried chicken all day!   ;D  I'm sorry to hear your sister had Covid. Glad she's out of hospital. Hopefully doesn't have mega issues with long Covid.

After seeing you guys talking about fried chicken, I'm re-thinking this...

the rain at lunchtime was torrential... the dogs were not impressed.

The tamale pie -- I didn't get the spices right in the meat, there was not enough cheese, and the cornbread was too sweet.  I might try it again some day, but OH has already decided he doesn't like it.

That actually wasn't bad (although I totally agree, not okay) it's in the same ballpark at least.. I've read of some completely unrelated items being subbed.  ;D
I rarely take the risk, except maybe with eggs (I figure an egg is an egg, pretty much) or bread.

I once ordered raw coconut…..they substituted a whole coconut in the shell. Ever try getting into a coconut?

My kid demanded raw coconuts more than once because of YouTube.  We actually got all the meat out and made empty shells to clomp together and make horse sounds.  Totally worth it.

When you're finished with the horse sounds; melt some lard, add wild birdseed, fill the half shell with the mixture and leave to cool. Then hang up for the birds to enjoy.  :)

Happy Friday!

1.) And oh what a happy one it is! I'm going to be on holiday once I shut this computer down for the day for a whole glorious week. I'm bloody knackered, it's been sooooooooooooooooooo busy.   [smiley=sleeping2.gif]

2.) Had another voice lesson this week. Epic. [smiley=guitarist.gif]

3.) Dropping the guinea pigs off with my in-laws on Monday who are thrilled to have them for a few days so we can go away. I mean who wouldn't want gorgeous, cheeky, adorable guinea pigs for a few days?   [smiley=smitten.gif]

4.) Hope the weather is okay on Skye next week. But whatever. I have waterproofs. And I'm not in my house. And it's Skye.  [smiley=daisy.gif]

5.) Need more coffee.  [smiley=dizzy2.gif]
