ksand, you're lucky if you can get the second booster. Enjoy the sun and I hope your travel home is uneventful & on time.
Haven't done one of these in a while, life has been really difficult but it's at least stabilising.
1. Finally, after 4.5 years living here, have a competent rheumatologist. I've been dealing with escalating symptoms for the last 2 years, the previous rheum ignored them completely and referred me to a service that was closed. We had it pay privately and be referred onto his NHS service, but I've been dealing with such severe symptoms he pushed me to the top of his cancellation list and now I have a lot of tests to get done.
2. My brain has been functioning like I had a TBI in 2020 (I didn't have a pulse oximeter when I had bronchitis/possible covid in March 2020, I wish I had), so I'm not able to do much of the work I used to. Through an agency that helps disabled folks I'm doing a Salesforce training with a certification at the end of it and it seems like a good fit so far. I'll probably never be able to get back to work full time, but even 15-20 hours a week would really help fund medical care and bills as the cost of living skyrockets.
3. I love having AC on days like this. My asthma and autonomic nervous system do not agree with hot weather, the AC keeps me safe.
4. Having a wheelchair is amazing, I can do things again and not need multiple days to recover. But people really do treat you differently as soon as the wheels are there, when partner is with me they ask him questions about me vs just speaking to me.
5. I mastered baking gluten free bread, occasionally still have a slightly big steam bubble but for the most part perfect crumb and lots of little bubbles.
