1. I'm woke up in a stellar mood today, and my harpy boss hasn't ruined it yet.

2. I love my new part-time job, and I'm quite good at it!

3. I finally finished my part of this killer project, so now I can go back to the other projects I enjoy.

4. I'm officially selling my cello this weekend! Done and done! Now I just gotta get rid of my car somehow.

5. Oops... spoke to soon. This is a conversation I just had with said harpy boss:

  • HB: "I heard you on a tech support call yesterday, and you didn't seem crazy enthusiastic to help the client."
  • Me: "Wow. Gosh. I didn't realize. So... is this a pattern you've seen/heard?"
  • HB: "No, just that one call I heard yesterday."
  • Me: "And the customer is upset? She called you?"
  • HB: "No. I called her and she said she's really happy with the support she received."
  • Me: "Um... ok?"
  • HB: "I want this to be a constructive critique."

Seriously.

Huh???

She's the type of person who talks just to hear herself talk (e.g. she often says on the phone, "I'm calling on behalf of myself..."), and she's on a power trip today. Double whammy, and I'm her favorite whipping boy.   [smiley=furious3.gif]

Happy Friday all!

1.) I asked J to go to the store to get me some more ingredients of things I ran out of while cooking last night... One of the things on the list was flour- he walked in the door and said, "Sorry, I got you the wrong kind of flour" and pulled out a dozen pink roses from behind his back  [smiley=smitten.gif]
2.) My car smells so nice of pulled pork, bbq baked beans, honey cornbread, sweet potato casserole and whoopie pies
3.) I don't know why I agreed to cook when I felt so rubbish... now I am completely shattered...luckily most of it was so easy, made in the crockpot
4.) Its such a gorgeous day outside again today- Hopefully there's more to come and these aren't the only nice days...
5.) Booo to UPS customer service, Yay to amazons! UPS lost my sister's birthday present (today) and couldn't offer me any helpful advice.  Sent an email to amazon and they've overnighted her another present.   :)

Happy Friday and Happy First Day of Spring!

1.  Working only a half day today!   [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
2.  It's the first day of spring!  [smiley=daisy.gif]
3.  Tomorrow is my birthday and hubby has a surprise planned!  [smiley=balloon.gif]
4.  Mum-in-law coming over on Sunday for Mother's Day--we will cook for her and do something fun like go for a hike or see a photography exhibit.
5.  I am going to dye my hair purple today (well it's plum highlights, anyway).  [smiley=gorgeous.gif]

1.  I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow!

2.  Going to a Mother's Day tea party at Roisin's nursery this afternoon.

3.  The good weather is supposed to continue over the weekend.  Wahey!

4.  The next door neighbours had loads of trees cut down on their property - good, less of a home for midgies.

5.  Frog spawn!

Technically Friday here.

1. I'm in a foul mood as my laptop is kaput.  This laptop I'm on sucks, to put it mildly.
2. I'm trying to rustle up gratitude that I have a spare laptop, crap as it is.
3. Going home to San Francisco tomorrow, feeling low and lonely- and know my family will cheer me up.  And my doggy that lives with my mom.  :)
4. School tomorrow is going to be a waste of time.
5. I am SO excited to come to the UK.  I'm due for a nice cuddle.

1) Got through my first week back at work after being away, and did not end up jumping out the 8th floor window in the process.
2) Went shopping and out for tea last night with a friend.
3) Going out for a meal & to the theater tonight (West Side Story) with another friend.
4) Will be spending the weekend with DH's family for UK Mother's Day.
5) I always thought the first day of spring was March 21st?

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!

And Happy Birthday to Andee tomorrow!!!!  ;D

1.  So far, I am unaware of anything I have to do today at work. I suspect I will just be fooling around on the internet since I finished a project that should've taken all week.
2.  Weekend alone with DH at last!
3.  Tonight it's a movie night again, with copious amounts of wine.  [smiley=mad.gif]
4.  Tomorrow we are doing some shopping for MIL and the house in general, then going to watch a magpie match at the pub with BIL and SIL in the evening (even though DH is a Man U fan).
5.  It's sunny and gorgeous here this morning!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!

I thought March 21 was the first day of spring too?

Keep passing the open windows, Mrs Robinson!

1.  Husband is coming home tonight.
2.  He still has a job.
3.  I've got a six pack of Carlsberg to drink with my dvd of The Duchess.
4.  I have to wear a swimsuit  :-[ and get in the pool to supervise my daughter's swimming birthday party tomorrow. :-\\\\

I used to think so, too....but I will google it to be sure.  I'm under the impression that the equinox arrives today sometime but that the first *full* day of spring is the 21st...

Thanks for the b-day wishes, Tin and that nice compliment yesterday! :-*

Mrs.R I'm glad you got through your first week back.  Just take it one day at a time....and have a wonderful Mum's Day weekend! :)

I just googled it.  The vernal equinox is today, the 20th at 11:44 am London time.  Some years it does fall on the 21st.

1. Going to have lunch with a friend in DC.

2. Have to take the metro in because I have no idea where to park in the city. I used to be able to park under the Air and Space Museum, but have lost my privileges!

3. Feeling slightly stressed about number 3 because I'm not 100% sure where the metro station is that I'm using.

4. Going to check out the now reopened American History Museum.

5. Going out with a group of girls tonight in Baltimore for some pre-wedding girliness.
