Now that we/Liverpool are like the 3rd big club to be owned/controlled by non English people, it's not as shocking as before.

I just hope with the extra cash, we can buy more top flight players - doesn't matter if they're not British, football is a business so I think it's fair to attract talent from wherever.

Just so long as we can prevent Chelsea and then Man Utd from winning the title/silverware I'm happy! I'd rather see Arsenal if not us get silverware than ch£lsea and Scum Utd!!

Also, I'd rather USA business people bought the club rather than some dodgy east european shady businessman or middle eastern oil baron !!

YOUUUU'LL NEVVVVVER WALKKKKK ALONNNNE!

Cheers! Dennis! West London & Slough UK!

It's a good thing for the club.  A much better deal than the MAnc takover, as it leaves you in a sound financial division.  Also, the owners have a record of dropping ticket proces, which has to be good.

Is it good for football?  Well, I think this sort of thing is inevitable now.  I worry that there is goign to be a three tier Premiership though, and I just hope that the revenue Arsenal gets from the new stadium means that we don't have to franchise out as well....though I wouldn't suprised if it happens in a few years.

New era for the Reds, but i nearly choked on my brew when one of the new owner's referred to his son playing goaltender and reffered to the club as a franchise.  :o  >:(

New investment secures the development of the new stadium so increased revenue will keep us in good stead in the transfer market.

It's interesting to see that Rick Parry had to quickly  respond to the new owner's comments calling it a 'franchise' and 'liverpool reds'

I believe they do show an understanding of liverpool's club traditions and football history  and genuinly want to look to retaining this with even more sucess but nevertheless they will demand  new ways of increasing worldwide awareness and revenue.

I think there is an oportunity waiting in the wings to bring in different sports to the Liverpool name and brand. I noticed Real Madrid have made a succesful venture into basketball for instance and it's not impossible that they could look into following their example. buying for example a hockey team or basketball team and calling them 'liverpool reds'.

Soon after that you will no doubt sart seeing the 'Manchester United' ice hockey team and who knows the Chelsea blues American football team
