Packing Hell!

So I thought packing stuff in storage, fixing my house up (sanding floors, painting etc), was going to be straight forward, what a nightmare!  We still have to move out of the house (most everything packed except my husbands shop  ), we are selling the vehicles, and signed with a rental management company in the last couple of days, my husband finished work to do all this stuff and now seems to have no motivation (his dog of 15 years died last month, his best friend of 20 years committed suicide and his dad whom he didn't have much contact with died this week), I think its all moving to quickly for him, on the way to the wake we had to drop clothes off at the salvation army! Isn't that awful!.  Today I sold a SUV (1st day of the ad), a woman came around my house to look at it to rent (how embarrassing when it looks like a bomb hit it!), sold baby clothes, so we are getting things done, but dread the next two weeks.  Everyone says, I don't know how you'll do it all!  I hate hearing that! Mind there own business  ! We'll get there, we have to!!!  Anyway, just wanted to vent on my moving hell! 

Yep, it's a pretty awful time, but it will end before you know it. When's your date to move over?

Everyone says, I don't know how you'll do it all!  I hate hearing that! Mind there own business  ! We'll get there, we have to!!!  Anyway, just wanted to vent on my moving hell! 

Hey scbrit, I can totally agree with you on this one. We are moving in 6 days and have finally overcome our last hurdle, finding a home for my cats. We made the decision to move back to my DH's home over a year ago, and have been struggling with mixed emotions. But we know this is the right move. Three garage sales, 4 large boxes shipped, two lovely kitties found a home yesterday, and explanations to everyone why we are doing this has worn us down. I finished my last day at work last Friday and said my goodbyes. We are leaving next week. It has been the hardest thing my little family of 3 has ever been through, but we have done it... you will too. I am finding out through this website that there are actually a lot of people doing the same thing... And it has been a big help having this resource.

Its a better week this week, we are moving on the 25th, we moved out of the house (although still have more moving), we never realised how much stuff we had! Its unreal! we can fix it up now, decided to carpet rather than refinish floors, things are gradually coming together.  I am still at work, wish I wasn't, I had some days off last week, last day is Friday. My parents babysat the kids on Sunday, they are in a new environment so they went crazy, my mum ended up in tears!! Bless her heart, (I have two boys, 2 and 3!).  We have a cat, my MIL had said she would look after but now she is beginning to retract the offer!  Bad timing!  Anyway if I had of known how much work it would be, we probably would never have done this, so its a good thing I didn't know!!
