childbirth/antenatal classes in England
« on: February 18, 2004, 05:27:35 PM »
i was wondering who [if anyone] here has taken them,
with whom (NHS, private, etc..) and what can you recommend
about them, experiences, etc..?

(i'm hoping that while i'm here, i can possibly take a series of classes..
& i'm just looking for personal experiences with them/etc..)

{thanks in advance} :)

I don't have personal experience yet, we're signed up for our local surgery's classes (two of them, in the evening) - but we probably won't go to them. My midwife suggested that if we want proper classes to go the NCT route (National Childbirth Trust), since theirs are better, more thorough, and there's more of them. :) (Turns out that's exactly what I don't want though ;) ) That might be different from region to region, your surgery/midwife might have good classes...
I'm done moving. Unrepatriated back to the UK, here for good!

I was going to suggest National Childbirth Trust as well.  I was going to study to be one of their teachers once upon a time.
