The buzz is REALLY good about this one!

"Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe makes a major career change shift to make his West End theatre debut ... Psychiatrist Martin Dysart tries to solve the problem of why a normal 17-year-old with a routine life and a loving family would suddenly blind six horses with a hoof pick. What drove Alan Strang to such an act of violence?

Dysart is played by West End veteran Richard Griffiths who won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in 2005 for his performance in The History Boys. Alan Strang is played by Daniel Radcliffe, who is best known for playing the wizard student Harry Potter in all of the Harry Potter films.
Box Office: 0870 950 0915"

LOVE this poster!

A friend of mine saw it last night, and said that it was fantastic, and that Dan Radcliffe was particularly amazing - she's a Harry Potter fan, but never was particularly taken with Dan Radcliffe, but she says the boy can act!

Did anyone see the disturbing photos of a shirtless Daniel Radcliffe that were in one of the weekend papers magazines last weekend?

Scary!  Im still wondering if all that hair was real...

Not only did I see those, but there's also one of his bare bum out there as well!  :o

Having said that, I've heard it's great (as is Daniel Radcliffe) and wish I could see it.

I am so bummed that I'm going to miss this.  Equus and I have a long history, so it's a play that I hold close to my heart.  It's brilliantly twisted and troubling, and I knew from the first I heard of the casting that this version would be fantastic.  The nakedness is being blown so far out of proportion as it relates to the play... but if it gets even a few people to go to the theatre who normally wouldn't, it's worth it.

Sorry... I tend to get a bit zealous about theatre. :-[

That being said, the pictures of Daniel Radcliffe have really freaked me out.  Especially the butt shot. :o

What's wrong with that!?!?   ;) ;D

Would you recommend reading the play before seeing it?  I'm familiar (read it in college, remember some basic points, and um, played a horse in ... THE scene).

Re nakedness, yep, sadly, gets the butts in the seats... wondering how these girlie Potter fans will take it.  I've had to tell a few people who only wanted to go because of Daniel, that it's, um, not exactly akin to Potter, and something for to steel oneself a bit.
But that's kinda why I dig that particular poster; it's evocative and provoking, without being exploitive.

I saw the photos in Heat mag at the doctors' office today.

Sorry, I'm sure it's a brilliant play, and I'm ill and a bit loopy, but I couldn't help laughing till I cried when I saw them.

I could just hear my sister saying, 'He's nekkid.'

Honestly, if you've read it already I think you may enjoy it more to not refresh.  I think it'll make it a more powerful experience.

Absolutely.  I sincerely hope that the box office is warning parents buying tickets for Jane and her friends that the subject matter is nothing short of disturbing.

I wanted to play a horse.  I got stuck with his mother. :P

I saw warnings that is it not for "younger" audiences on a ticket site.

I figured they probably would.  However, I'm sure someone will wind up complaining that they didn't know it wasn't meant for children. ::)

I don't doubt it. I've been to my share of shows I didn't have a clue about but if I was offended I certainly would walk out without a fuss.

That's a tad bit shocking but he can't be little Harry Potter for the rest of his life and this is def a good way to get people to take him more seriously and not see him as Harry...
