Is it really yummy?  I see it at our grocery all the time in the international food section and have always wondered how it was.

To be honest, as far as Mexican hot choc goes, I prefer Ybarra (or is it Ibarra?   cant remember the spelling..), but Abuelita is pretty good.
It's a sort of chocolate/cinnamon mixture.

Ooh, YUM.  I'm trying to convince DF that we really do need to put together an order from MexGrocer....  ;D

Ibarra is definitely nicer and the ingredients are more wholesome.

Abuelita is owned by Nestle.

A score for this country though!!  ;)

 ;D  Mmmm mole verde....

I think the problem is that, being as DF is from Middlesbrough, he just doesn't have a proper appreciation for Mexican food.  (At least not the sort of proper appreciation I have as a native of the southern US.)  Though he's quite a fan of fajitas....

Hopefully you can get him trained up properly!  ;)

Speaking of MexGrocer... their corn husks for making tamales are marked down to only  99p from £2.99.

And dont forget that if you are a UKY charter member, you get a further discount...

Oh, and... good news for all you Nestle boycotters!
Seems MexGrocer now stock a different brand of drinking chocolate...  Moctezuma, instead of Abuelita.

And who was it that was looking for horchata recently?   Desert Dreamer?
They have horchata mix, too.

Mmmmm, horchata!  But I consider horchata a special thing we have when we go on holiday in Spain. :)

Yes, yes, it was meeeeeee!!!! My son loved it when we were back home, I'll have to check into placing an order. I'd like some masa too, but I've never made homemade tamales, (used to eat the kind in the can wrapped in paper back home) my mom says it's pretty easy, just a lot of work. Do you HAVE to use the corn husks? Anybody have an easy version of a tamale recipe? I'd love to make and freeze some, would that work? Whoopsie, I've gone waaaayyyy off topic...... :P
