Resealable containers that work?
« on: February 19, 2007, 02:01:23 PM »
I pack my lunch in resealable plastic containers everyday.  And everyday that I have an item with liquid in it, I need to pack the container into a plastic bag because it will invariably leak.

Has anyone found any leak-proof containers over here?  I really can't afford Tupperware at the moment.

Nope. :) Bought a rubbermaid set in the US and brought it here. I LOATHE the clip and close ones - you know, the ones that have clips on all 4 sides. How annoying is that? You have to undo all four sides b efore you can open the silly thing!  ::)

Have you tried Lakeland if you can't get something from the US? That's what I'd do.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

IKEA has some, they weren't that cheap, but they work!

I got some good ones from Wilkinsons that weren't too pricey.

I use Biokips, available from Homebase and other places and not too pricey at all.  I think they are better than tupperware, as the click lock mechanism is much more reliable.

The round ones from IKEA work pretty well. The rectangular ones are best for dry stuff instead.

I agree.  We've got a set of both round and rectangle IKEA ones (with blue lids) and the round ones are excellent for liquids - the rectangular ones, not so much. :)

I guess I'll see if we make it to the US or IKEA first, and buy them there.  We're going back to the States in April, but are also planning to bus ourselves out to the nearest IKEA at some point.

Thanks!
