Congrats SadB!!!  So we want details now!  When?  Where?  How? ;D

Thank you, everyone, for the well wishes!  We don't know when quite yet (as we are still waiting on the stupid British Army--he appealed his medical deferment) but it will most likely be in either Texas, where my family is, or New Hampshire.  We do want it to be simple and small as neither of us would be comfortable with something super fancy. And money, unfortunately, is still an issue.  But, I am very frugal and great with finding inexpensive ways to do things if need be.

As soon as we get these details worked out, I will let everyone know what we are doing.   ;D  I might have a lot of questions too!

We had a really simple wedding and we're going on being married for 18 years.  You don't need a fancy wedding, it's the marriage that is important..

I totally agree!  It isn't the day, it is the many years that follow.

Congratulations!  I hear you about being hard on rings.  I ended up getting a tension set ring which is great as the diamond doesn't stick up - I wear it all the time and don't have to worry about getting it scratched...here's a pic of it:

You might want to see if you can do something similar for your wedding band...

How exciting!  Have fun with this time!

What a great idea!  That is definitely one that I will speak to the jeweler about!  Thanks!

I totally agree Dh & I had a simple wedding back home as well. thats alright for some people to have a lavish wedding, but Dh isn't crazy about being the center of attention. so I wasn't botherd in the least we had a simple wedding. like someone said it the the marriage thats important.  [smiley=love.gif] the money you saved by having a simple wedding can help you get a good start with your new life together.

onetiger thats a beautiful ring you have.  :)

What fantastic news!!  :)  I'm so happy for y'all.  ;D

That's such a sweet story about your grandmother's ring, too.  I have my grandmother's wedding ring as well (though I'll never wear it - she had TINY hands!), and it's got such sentimental value.

Thanks, again, everyone!  I am so excited!  I have been looking at dresses all day online.  Anyone know a brand that is good for petite people with curves?  I swear, EVERYTHING is designed for tall straight up and down women!  Oh, and I am not looking for a wedding dress, exactly.  Just a great dress that I feel like a million bucks in.  ;D
