Anthony Bourdain

I'm starting to really like this guy. I've caught some of his shows both here and in the US. I'm thinking about buying one of his books... anyone a fan out there - or not?
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I've seen some of his programmes...I think he's a hoot :D  I love how he gets so into food- you can tell that's it's really a passion for him.

I looooove me some Anthony Bourdain!  I've read all his non-fiction, and they're great.  I'd recommend starting with Kitchen Confidential.  It's essentially his memoir of how he came to be a chef and all the interesting stories that came with it.  Honestly, though, you can't go wrong with any of them.  Even the Typhoid Mary book was an interesting read - his take on it was a bit different than most.

I haven't read any of his fiction, though.  Not a big thriller fan. :-\\\\

I'm a big Anthony Bourdain fan. I loved watching his travel/food shows on the Travel Channel back in the US. Plus all the books are good.

And he was right about Rachel Ray. Always thought he was being a bit dramatic not liking her, but after looking through a few of her books I'm not so much of a fan of hers.

I received the Les Halles Cookbook for Christmas a couple of years ago from my cousin, who is a Bourdain and cooking enthusiast. Having never had exposure to Anthony before this, I was blown away by his hilarious style and straight-forward cooking methods and advice. There are a ton of really tasty recipes in this book and I would recommend it to any gastrophile who is serious about cooking. It is especially handy in England, where you can find some of the cuts of meat much more readily than you can in the US.

Never read his books, but, his travel show is hilarious!  I just saw the one where he went to Japan and I about died laughing.  I swear, he will eat anything!

He's FAB. I even watch repeats of his shows 'cause they just never seem to stop being entertaining! And I'd give ANYTHING for his metabolism!!

I'll second the recommendation for the Les Halles Cookbook.  I got it for my husband, and it's really great.  If you like very traditional bistro cooking, there are some great recipes in it.
