Oh FFS, I didn't even go down the beer aisle. How am I going to get a case of Anchor Steam home on the tube and train.

Oh, hang on.... Maybe I can bribe a certain someone who can drive in. In return for a trip to Costco maybe. Hmmmm.  ;)

Hee! Just found this comment. Wonder who you might be referring to?

In yesterday's Guardian Weekend magazine, in the fashion section they have a column called The Measure, where they proclaim which trends are going up or going down.

In the 'going up' bit, I read this:

'Homemade peanut butter - we're holding our judgement (and wallets) about this Whole Foods malarkey, but that make-your-own-peanut butter section is the most fun you can legally have with a piece of protein.'

I have to confess... I've visited Whole Foods recently, and the peanut butter/ other nut butter thing would probably be the only reason i would ever return!  :)

I had a lovely hour in Whole Foods on Saturday morning! I came home with blue corn chips, sushi making supplies, black beans, albacore tuna (only 99p a tin!) and waaaaaay too much wine!

We made a surprise trip to Whole Foods last Tuesday! DH had a job interview in Reading and we decided to drive down and stay with a friend overnight - on the way back, we decided "what the heck?!" and went to check things out.  ;D

I am in love with my organic white corn chips and am already devising ways to obtain more without having to make the trip to London!

Of course, I also managed to fall down the escalator....  :-[

Yep.  :-[  It was incredibly embarrassing - I somehow either missed the first step or slipped on something, and fell down about six steps before I managed to grab hold of the handrail.  It was dignified, let me tell you.  Of course DH was in the loo and missed the whole thing - he found me over by the tomatoes and asked "why are you limping?"

The day they start mail order (in lieu of actually opening one near me) will be the happiest day of my life.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Oh no! Are you OK?

I'm fine now - though the day after this happened, I managed to run over my own pinky toe (same foot) with a shopping trolley!   :o  Thanks for asking! :)

I'm forever injuring my toes (usually the big ones) with shopping trolleys!! Those things should come with warning labels!

I finally made it to Whole Foods. :)  I had an interview in London this afternoon and was able to drop by the store on the way home.  As I was walking up I thought to myself... It SMELLS like Whole Foods. Yay!

I bought a some canned refried black beans (59p each), a gorgeous looking loaf of Sourdough bread and some granola (small tub for 36p!!).  I could have gone a little OTT, but I think I showed great restraint.

OH!  And I also bought some Amy's Organic Feta & Spinach pockets!!  I used to eat them all the time.  Can't wait until lunch tomorrow.

I thought the store was great, although I did get a little lost.  I thought the "trolly carrier" next to the escalator was quite clever.

DH and I are going up to London in a couple of weeks will do a more thorough shopping.
It will definitely be a treat for us, but it does make me feel a little less homesick. :)

They had a good Mexican section. and I noticed they had frozen Edamame. I've only been able to find soy beans out of the pod... but the pod is half the fun.  The sushi also looked REALLY nice.

Okay, I'll shut up now.  8)

Holland & Barratt also sells those, although they don't always have them in stock.

Thanks for the tip.  I checked our local shop and they don't carry any kind of chilled food.  I will keep that in mind though.

Today DH and I went to London to go to WF and a photography exhibit.  We bought megatrain tickets so it was only £2 return each! :)

DH has been to WF a few times in the US, so he was just as excited about going as I was which was really cute.

I was totally blown away because this time they had La Preferida SALSA VERDE!!! in a big glass bottle. YAY!  I also picked up some blue corn tortilla chips & a couple of cans of refried black beans.  Guess what we'll be having for dinner tomorrow?

We also bought another loaf of sourdough bread.  It is soooo YUM.  We probably won't be back anytime soon, but it sure was fun! :)
