My summer is going to be begging to make-up placement hours!  grrrrr... although if we are counting September, looks like we will be meeting up with my parents to go to Vienna.  I think we are also looking for a nice short, cheap getaway for us though too.  Short of that, because I really don't know if we can afford two holidays, I think I am going to see what my new (birthday present) English heritage pass will allow me to get into around here.  I'm really excited to use it!   :)

Good going on the English Heritage pass persephone!  I got one my first year here (last year) and loved the thing... I only wish I had used it more!

hmmm might renew.
I have already processed that humor..

How was everyone's Easter travels -- those who went out & about?

We had a lovely time in the Peak District -- sort of scouting around different places to figure out what we might like to go back to.  We walked on Stanage Edge, went to Bakewell & then did a short walk around there out of Youlgreave, then to Castleton where we walked up through Cavedale (just amazing!) and up around to the cave sites, and lastly today we went to Buxton.  And a lot of pretty drives all over in between these places. :)

I love Castleton!  That part of the country is so beautiful.

Amsterdam was fantastic! We went to Keukenhof Gardens, Anne Frank House, Rembrandthuis, Van Gogh Museum, the flower market, ate a lot, and basically just wandered around and enjoyed the city. The weather was gorgeous, the Dutch are super friendly, and I didn't get plowed over by a bike! Success!

Yes, we definitely want to go back there again!  Feels a little bit like a mountain town in Colorado somewhere (except the mountains aren't as tall).  I mean I got a similar kind of vibe there. :)

Glad to hear you liked Amsterdam!  We had a similar weekend there in April once, with the gorgeous weather, etc.  And I was really dodging all those bikes - eeek!

We're going to Denmark for a friend's wedding end of June. I want to go home during the summer for 2 weeks. Who knows what will happen. Beginning of July I get my new sofa and chair.  ;D Ummmmm. Alton Towers early June for my birthday. I don't know if I can travel because I just got a job and I don't know how long I have until I can have a holiday. I still wanna go to Mexico this November though, the whole family is going.  :-[

We're going to Spain at the end of May for DH's birthday.

Nothing else planned, though hopefully I'll be driving by summer and we can go EVERYWHERE!   ;D

I am not going to have time to think this summer!

I'm going:

To Paris for a week in May.
Two days after I get back from that, I'm leaving for the road trip to LA with my best friend. T
hen a week after I get back from LA, I'm taking a summer class that meets four days a week. (ugh)
as soon as the class is over, I'm going to FL with friends.
The week after I get back from that, classes at my new uni starts and my summer is over.

june 8 - 23 in NJ/Philly/Woods Hole/Boston.  Part vacation, Part Cousin's Wedding, Part board meeting, part legal stuff.

july- short weekend break in greece with a Greek friend of mine (have ALWAYS wanted to go to greece with her)

august- short weekend to join little sisters & father who are doing the second half of their walk across england (kirkby stephen to robin hood bay)

that's it!

We've got our trains booked for the Madrid/Paris week!  We'll be staying with my friend in Madrid, and now we've got to get our accommodations & general itinerary (in the loosest sense) figured out for Paris.  Any suggestions at all, for anything, in Paris - out there? :)
