When book 6 came out, the bookstore I worked in had a midnight release party. I was basically the one running around getting all the employees water, telling people when to take breaks, etc etc. Some little girl tugged on my sweater and I looked down. CUTEST little girl ever. She looked up at me with her little doe eyes and said "You're Hermione, aren't you? I already got to meet Harry [we had an employee dress as him and he was very convincing, especially in my black grad gown from college], but where is Draco? I want to meet him!" She was sad when I told her that I thought Draco may be somewhere else in town since they couldn't be in two places at once, but she gave me a hug and wanted a picture.

And yes, my hair is big, brown, and frizzy.  ::)

That's such a cute story!

The mom was really sweet too. I just didn't have the heart to correct her so I took the photo and gave her a hug. She was really excited and told me how she loved books like me [Hermione] and read every night at bedtime with her mommy. So cute!!  [smiley=smitten.gif]

Did anyone else catch JK Rowling on Jonathan Ross last night? She talked a bit about the new book. She said that initially, she'd decided that two characters would die. But now she says it's more than two!  She jokingly referred to it as a "blood bath"!!

She also said that at one time she'd said the final word of the last book would be "scar," but it's not. It's near the end, apparently, but isn't the last word.

And, interestingly, she said she wouldn't rule out writing about the HP world again at some point. She said it's ulikely, and that Harry's story is over and done with, but she wouldn't say never.

Harry walked around the coffee table to accept a rather robust hug from Professor Lupin, when all of the sudden he scraped his shin on the corner.

"Well THAT'S gonna scar!"

THE END

See?  It's fun!

After it was all over, Hermione looked at Harry.

"Now that Voldemort's gone, what are you going to do, Harry?"

"I dunno, Hermione.  Maybe start my own band.  I've always quite liked ska."

THE END ;D

Suddenly, their ears were assaulted with the most horrendous cacophony they'd ever heard.

"WHAT IS IT?!" Hermione shouted above the noise.

Ron grabbed at his ears with panic in his eyes. "Is it You-Know-Who again?"

"No," Harry replied with a smirk, "It's just a little ska."

I'm not sure what it is about this thread, but I've been downloading Mighty Mighty Bosstones songs like there's no tomorrow!

James is taking the two younger kids to Smiths'.  The eighteen year old has seen it as an opportunity to get a lift home. ;)

Contrary to my calling it a horrible cacophony, I actually like some ska!
