Thanks :-) Perhaps I should also mention Bradgate Country Park, which is closer to my home, in Leicester:

Been there, Been there!!!  Actually, we were just talking about taking the hound there.  He gets a wee bit over stimulated when we visit so we have to be prepared.

You would think it is Stonehenge since we have been there 8 times in the last 15 months - but that's just to take all our visitors who just couldn't leave England without seeing it.  We find Avebury to be a much nicer pile of rocks to look at though....hehe
But I think our favorite place so far has been Cornwall area - with Lizards Point a beautiful area as well as Tintagle with King Arthurs Castle sitting high on a hill and even though it's much commercialize - Lands End, and Mount St Michaels with water and without water and just the whole area in general with all the narrow roads that our SatNav took us down.  Well you get the picture - the Cornwall area of England!!!!

I quite like the Lakes District.

I also like Worm's Head at Rhossili beach on the Gower.  And the beach in Swansea - down away from the city, where you can sit at night and look out over the refinery flames (sounds weird, I know).

I prolly shouldn't even say, as I haven't been to so much of this country, but...so far, I would say the north coast of Cornwall--around Boscastle down towards Tintagel and all the coast along thereabouts:  it's the most beautiful area I've ever seen, just breathtaking.

And, this may seem silly as it's a singularly small place, it doesn't qualify as an area, per se...but I love Heale Gardens, which are a few minutes drive from where we live.  I just find it so lovely and peaceful...

And Stourhead, too...

Ambleside
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I find a new place each time I visit.
The most recent would be Durdle Door.
Sailing in the Solent and the view to the Isle of Wight.
I love the New Forest - Beaulieu with the small shops and ponies in the street!

I like where I live (Hove), but was very impressed by the quaintness of Salisbury.

* Sheffield (I studied abroad here and really settled in...Sheffield is "home" to me here in the UK.  I can't wait to move back in July.)

This one is interesting to me....my BF lives in Sheffield and neither of us like it there at all. I DO like it's proximity to the Peak District (gorgeous!), but as a city, I can't see the draw. I'd be interested to hear your take on the city.

My favorite places are:

Crossing the Parade Bridge in Bath and looking up the river at the Pultney Bridge and the weir (especially at night). Every time I walk home from the Leisure Centre, I look at that and think how lucky I am to live here.

Shropshire

Scotland - The whole country. I can't pick just one place!

Wot, you mean Easterhouse?  Wester Hailes?  Forth?  Larkhall?  Pilton?  Parkhead?  Greenock?
Believe me... there are plenty of shite places in Scotland!  ;)
I'm very grateful i dont live in one of them, considering that in my early days here, i lived in a junkies den in Milton!  (i wasn't a junkie, but i was very naive...)  :-\\\\

Now... for nice places in Scotland... i quite like the West Coast, and the Hebridean islands.   We go to Islay every summer.
