The Waiting Game
« on: April 05, 2007, 06:05:49 PM »
Ok so I decided to go forward with my application to the University of Westminster. Their school of media and the arts department is excellent so I'm ok with my decision. The Univ. has all my paper work and upon reviewing my application the course leader wanted me to clarify why i left one job for another. I was kinda surprised they were so through. So I have been fasting and praying in addition to everything else to get into this program....

Round 2 begins! i was asked for an telephone interview yippi!! I have about 2 weeks to prepare and to wow them.  Please with me luck!

argh biting nails!

I understand blindness, except I just can't see far away. Good luck with your phone interview! That is good news to hear they're asking!

Good Luck with everything! I'm sending good thoughts. I was so worried about my phone interview. Googled UK Uni interviews and got incredibly nervous but it was no big deal. We chatted for 20 mins about why I wanted to be in the program. I had a few questions ready for him and then he said, "well you convinced me" and sent me an offer letter the next day.
2 weeks until your phone interview makes you wish it was tomorrow to get it over with. :)

Isn't this all so funny? I totally feel like we're the "UK-Y Class of 2007" or something. How fun!

We are Class of 2007!!! When I first joined this website I felt like I was the only new student. So selfishly I'm glad you got accepted (and excepted - heee) and I'm hoping that GadgetChik does too!!!!

What's funny is, I am a total grammar nazi. Lately though, I have been typoing all over the place and replacing words with the wrong words. The other day I was writing down a grocery list and I wrote half of it in French. When I gave it to my sister, she was really confused!

And yes I hope she is accepted too! And C_S is still waiting to hear back on a MA program in history of art at UCL!

Thanks guys!! Its really great to have a place you can come and talk about this with out having to explain why I am looking to do a Masters abroad. Why I have a strong desire for travel and why I choose to do this instead of get married and have babies!  I haven't told my dad yet. argh!!

Side bar. I'm sooooo blind  I have astigmatism on top of everything else. I went last week for a LASIK consult...apparently I'm so uber blind i have to go to a specialist because LASIK plus couldn't help me. So before I leave for school I am going to invest about $4k in eye surgery. I am 28 and i have been wearing something for vision correction since I was 5!!!!
