2555EZ question
« on: April 14, 2007, 06:40:03 PM »
on the 2555-EZ form for Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, line 11a it asks "list your tax home(s) during 2006 and date(s) established".  How specific do I need to be?  Would I put Leighton Buzzard, England 3 Sept 2005  and Coventry, England 2 June 2006  or do I need to put the full address?

Neither - "tax home" is a term defined in the IRS Code as the jurisdiction where you are resident for tax purposes; thus England or United Kingdom would suffice.

ok so I'd just put United Kingdom, with date established Sept 3 2005 then.  Thanks.  I do tend to over-think stuff.  Especially when it has to do with the federal government.

What if you moved part way through the 2006 US tax year? I'm going to file as a bona-fide resident, so would I still put UK?  Thx
