PSA: Travelling to US with British spouse
« on: April 18, 2007, 12:16:05 PM »
I'm not sure where this should go, but I was talking with an American yesterday who just found this out (took us a while to figure it out too!) and so I thought I'd post it for anyone who might not know it.

When you enter the US with your British spouse, he/she can go through the US citizen line in immigration with you because you're traveling as a family.  The reverse is true as well.

We spent so much time waiting for one another at the luggage carousel because we had been going through separate lines all the time!

If you harbour bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

We always pick the shortest line and go through, as long as you are travelling together, they will take you through.

One time my husband went to the bathroom and I went through the line and they made me get off the line and wait until he came out!!! Because we were travelling together, they wanted us to go through customs together!!
